I ask that because from my limited understanding, the main hurdle is not exactly the amount of oil still available, but the cost/benefit of trying to pump out oil from deposits that either outlived their usefulness or are too difficult to use (deep sea). Eventually, the costs might turn out to be unsustainable.
Hopefully before we die. Probably before your kids die.
On another subject, what sites do you guys read for world news? I'm overhauling my opera speed dial page and RSS feeds, because everything I have in there are gaming sites and having dozens of them is stupid.
I use google reader. I break down my news into different folders.
For straight-up news I subscribe to these feeds:
Los Angeles Times - Top Stories
New York Times - Home Page
SCOTUSBlog - Cases in the Pipeline
Whitehouse.gov Press Office Feed
and three Aussie ones that you would not care for (I would imagine).
For politics (US)
POLITICO - Top Ten - Playbook 24/7
Time: Joe Klein
LA Times - Politics (Washington post was giving way too many stories)
EDIT: If you want gaming... well it's a long list, as is my podcast section.
Nice, thanks.
"The main L.A. Noire story lasts 25 to 30 hours, Rockstar has revealed.
On top of the unmissable "assigned cases" you can investigate "unassigned cases" - side-quests, PlayStation Life reported."
Point and click adventure. VERY text-heavy, very much NOT a braindead game. Awesome, but stay away if you DON'T want to think too heavily right now.
...
Wait? What? You going away for a bit?
About as close as Vader is in developing good taste in movies!
Get rid of the great acting and you will have Star Wars and you will be praising it as the best movie ever!
I saw it last night. I actually really enjoyed it. Even though i'm an anti-monarchist, George VI was a very lovable man. He was the underdog and against all odds he became a great leader that rallied the troups against the greatest evil mankind has ever known and gave courage to his people when they feared the end was near. For someone with a serious speech impediment, to come to be remembered for the greatness of his wartime speeches ... it's no mean feat.
What you say is true the plot is simple, but it's a true story and in my opinion a great story.

This is not exactly gaming news so I didn't want to post it on the newsboard, (though in a 6 degrees of separation way it sort of is), but it's still worth noting- MS has finally announced the invetiable and is phasing out the Zune - http://www.fox43.com/news/wpmt-rt-tech-us-microsoft-zutre72d816-20110314,0,4256338.story
I know many of you are heart broken, so if anyone needs to talk about it I'm here for you.
*goes and tosses his old Zune into the trash*
Good luck on today's shoot Leo. Then again by the time you read this it'll probably be already done, so I hope it went well!
That reminds me though, I haven't brought out Dark Robio in about a year. Same with all my little stories of hanging out wiith Miyamoto. I really need to get a new gimmick or bring one of the old ones back. Sadly my whimsey seems to have left me in recent months.
de Blob 2 Struggling at Retail
This is an interesting story. The sales for this game have more or less just tanked. The reviews have all been positive. And I know that it's not because of lack of awareness. I've seen commercials and ads for it - probably more than when the original came out. I can't really say I'm surprised its bombing though. I can't really say I have any interest in the game even though I enjoyed the first. Maybe the rest of the world agrees with me when I said it didn't really need a sequel.
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

the first game was different and one of a kind no ones seen anything like it, but they got greedy and made the second game on every system sadly games like this don't sell well on the labed "hardcore" systems, i for one refuse to buy part 2 for that reason and i guess i am not alone
It is interesting. It's not as easy as it looks jumping from DL to Retail. I wonder how Geometry Wars did at retail, I noticed it dropped in price pretty heavily when it came out.
That does suck. I always saw it as the rebellion against the Imperial Forces.
Posted story about Bioware employee posting 10/10 on metacritic fo his game.
Seems like a petty story, I mean, who wouldn't give their own game a 10/10, but there may be more to it.
