I've still been coming here daily for the news. You guys rock! This is the best gaming news source I know of (sad to say I probably wouldn't know about it if I hadn't been on GameSpot and in the RoF).
Been mostly absent from forums, save for a few posts on non-gaming-related ones. I'd been obsessed with the Left 4 Dead series and started making a campaign based on my university (btw, I graduated in December), but that's going to take a LOOOOOOOOOONG time to come to fruition. Haven't made any mods before, and definitely haven't worked on one thing for -- what will probably be -- over a year before. And I've been checking out the L4D 1/2 Steam forums. And btw, if you guys are interested in watching L4D 1/2 matches between some of the best teams, go here.
Then I was obsessed with the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic series, in anticipation of The Old Republic. Need to get back to KotOR 2 one of these days.
Also played some Streets of Rage Remake. I'm still pissed that it's taking so long for the dev team to get something ironed out with Sega so the download links will come back up legitimately. It's been about a month now, so I'm not holding my breath. Might be 8 years of work smacked down permanently after the project was available for just a few days.
Btw, whoever is on Steam can add me. Steel and UpInFlames are already on my friends list, but otherwise it's just people I know IRL. Steam name is "DeinGesicht" (it means "your face" in German). Sorry to say I haven't been chatting with those two guys... but I'm really not even in the habit of chatting with friends on there if we aren't / weren't really close friends IRL, so don't feel bad or offended, you two.
So that's who that DeinGesicht dude was. I had no idea why I had some random german dude on my Steam list.
Yes, The Witcher 2 is a must-buy. I'll probably pre-order the premium edition on GOG. Great extras, 10% off, and a free grand ol' game to boot! If any of you guys have recommendations for which old game to get, I'd be grateful. At one time I heard that Planescape: Torment was among the selection, and that was my pick (so many people have said so many good things about it), but it's... not... actually... one of the games available.
These are the options:
Beyond Divinity
Divine Divinity
Gothic 2: Gold Edition
Realms of Arkania 1 + 2
Realms of Arkania 3
I already have Gothic 3, since I heard it was similar to The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, but I haven't played more than a few minutes. I hear Gothic 2 might be better. Anyway, recommendations? I have a gigantic backlog on Steam, but the old game is free!
Recommendations for the old game should be based on the following: I love The Witcher, The Elder Scrolls, and Knights of the Old Republic (and will probably be including Mass Effect and Dragon Age in there, too). Not a fan of the isometric view, and games like Torchlight don't interest me much.
I've been replaying The Witcher, but after knowing everything that happens, I find it harder to keep going. Of course, it doesn't help that I may have burned myself out a bit from playing so much damned dice poker. Won a lot, lost a lot. Had some reloads in there to make sure I didn't permanently bankrupt myself.
I may eventually get Fable 3, but Fable 1 didn't draw me in enough when I first got it, and I didn't try Fable 2. In the first one, it didn't help that it kept crashing at the point when I had to escort people so they wouldn't die in a balverine attack. Could be a flaw with the disc. I don't think I've gotten back to that game in a few years now. Just got tired of the unavoidable crashes in that area.
What? Really?! I could have sworn I introduced myself as Angry_Beaver before, in the chat, probably! XD
I don't usually use the same pseudonym in different places. There are just a few exceptions. I'm only "Angry_Beaver" on here so the other GameSpot (ex)members would recognize me.
GG, now you've got me associating you with a grey long-haired cat that seems to be angry because it was awakened prematurely.
WTF I want that cat. Like NOW.
Are those expensive?
They cost 2 Balls.
Fur balls?
Hairy balls, like what GG coughs up.
Does it matter, it would be butchered IW.
Okay back in the land of the living. Had a rough day
Friday morning I woke up a bit early with an headache. Thought I was dehydrated and therefore my head hurted. So took some drink and a aspirin. Went to work. First I take the subway and usually my bike. But I was a little light headed, so the bus it was. At work my stomach was a bit off. So I solved this quickly by taking a huge dump at work (in the bathroom, people). This did two things. It made my stomach better and it meant I just wasted 20 minutes.
So work went on, I ate some french fries and a kroket and at four a clock I was done with my 8 hours. I was a bit tired, but nothing out of the ordinary. So I walked back to the bus. I tried walking faster, but I was too tired. I did not sleep that well that night before, so I thought nothing of that. But no problems, tommorow is ninja camp bitches. So excited to maim people again. So after finishing eating grilled meat, with potatoes and vegetables and packing for ninja camp I went upstairs to watch tv.
I zapped around and decided to watch Hancock. The movie was so bad that it made me sick to my stomach by watching it. I tried fighting it by taking deep breaths, but in hindsight I should have probably just changed the chanel. But to no avail. So I went to the bathroom, hoping to shit it out. But that did not happen. I actually threw up my diner. This was bad. I never throw up. The last time I did was way back. I don't even remember it. Throwing up felt like someone was vacuum cleaning my stomach.
But after a while it stopped. So I thought, I should feel better now, right? So upstairs I went and watched Hancock again. Well again I begin feeling sick. So went downstairs and shat in the toilet while throwing up in the trashcan that keeps your toilet paper and stuff. It was getting worse. Standing up straight would make me feel light headed. So I sat there for a hour or two. My puke was smalling bad. Dammit, there is no way I can go to ninja camp anymore.
So after a while I went out and tried to sit in the living room. Still keep throwing up. After a while went upstairs. Going on the stairs was difficult. Had to rest halfway. So I went up, went to my bedroom, I bended over to puke....and the next time I know I am on the ground, puke all over me and my mother going in full panick mode. I must have fainted and hit my head on the floor only to wake up by the impact Big Nog style. Looked at my glasses and they were all bended because of the impact. Head was fine, no damage whatsoever, but then again I am used to get hit on my head. So I took a few breath and was feeling better. But then on the bed had to keep puking again.
Because I have fainted my sister called a ambulance. They did some test, like measuring my blood pressures, hearth rate, feeling stomach and taking my blood sugar levels. They said I probably have food poisoining or a virus. The only thing I can do is to sick it out. They did gave me medicine to stop the puking and a certain salt glucose solution you put in water to make it easier to absorb by your body. It tastes exacly like Aquarius energy drink. The next morning it went better, but still puked out everything I put in my mouth (Leo no dirty thoughts). Now it is getting better, I had drinks, 3 crackers and one piece of banana in me without puking it out. Still not feeling 100%, but who cares Iga at 10% is still beter then the rest of you.
So the moral of the story. Do not ever watch Hancock. I will make you faint only to wake up in your own puke. Kinda like Steel. But don't feel bad for me Doctor Steel. Someone needs your help so much more.
Quick Steel, he is reaching the point of no return. I recommend 50ccs of Shattered Memories stat.
Oh, shit I am going to throw up again
Yes, I did write that and your wife thanks me. But I was not referring to that
Hey look, logic. Yep Bugsy is right.
Hey, that is my next paper.
Glad to hear you're feeling better now, Iga. With that kind of diseases, the only possible choice is to tough them out until you have puked or shat everything. Keep yourself hydrated and follow a careful diet progression.
Yikes, well I am gald you are feeling better Iga. Definetly sounds like a case of food poisoning.
I've done the old "shit in the bog, puke in the paperbasket" routine before as well. What really pisses me off about having the runs, is that after the fourth or fifth time you take a shit, the anus starts to burn and you can't wipe your asshole anymore except for a few gentle pats with a baby wipe.
Stop it Steel, you are making GG jealous.
I wonder if GG has ever had diarrhea.
