I'll be spending the last few hours of this DREADFUL year, playing games, reading and RELAXING.
After --FINALLY-- finishing Snake Eater (after allllll these years) and playing a good bit of Peace Walker (just met Huey and beat the Pupa), I've never had a stronger urge to go back and play Metal Gear Solid 4, so that's exactly what I'm going to be doing! I've just played up to the part where you meet Drebin for the first time and I am on my way to rendezvous with Rat Patrol.
It REALLY is a SIN how I played the game originally, having absolutely NO knowledge of the significance of the grave Snake was saluting in the beginning. Or who Big Momma REALLY was! How the Motorcycle chase with Big Momma was actually history repeating itself... How much emotion would have been invested in Snake and Big Boss' final conversation had I known what Naked Snake endured thru his missions and that he wasn't the Villain I always imagined him to be. Never knew who The Sorrow was. Finding out who The Patriots really were meant next to nothing to me...
I'm looking forward to experiencing it all over again, and being able to fully appreciate it this time!
I also picked up Fortune Street today. Found Fire Emblem DS for $4.99 and DQ VI for the same... I'm going to be dabbling, playing MG4, some 9,9,9 and some Ghost Trick and ending my year, quietly, privately and mercifully UNEVENTFULLY!

Happy New Years, my friends.
I fondly remember Y2k and how everyone was paranoid about the end of the world. I stayed up to watch the ball drop with my sister and parents. My mom fell asleep about ten, so it was just my dad, my sister and me. Dick Clark or whoever it was, started the final minute countdown when the TV just shut off. The three of us just stared at each other in shock for a few seconds before realizing that my mother turned over on the TV remote and turned on the sleep timer.
