Is this All Star game coming out soon or something? I will wait till they give it away for free on PS+
Wii U getting CoD at launch? Wow. Though it will probably be two weeks late meaning 10 million people will have the game already.
I never went to robotgeek, figured I should check out foolz reviews, so I saw his Alan Wake one. This is right at the start:
Alan Wake was one of those games I just had to play. I followed it with great excitement, reading preview after preview and interview after interview…then came the delays. The sort of delays that can change a man. By the time Alan Wake was finally released I had grown; become a different person even. I was a bitter old man at odds with the world of videogames; a world that seemed bereft of creativity—perhaps an ironic thing for a critic to desire, but I was not a critic at heart; I was a gamer.
It was something I struggled with; I could not quite handle the pressure of playing the same game over and over again; the same setting, the same plot, the same mechanics, the same developers and different developers that all seemed the same.
Of course Alan Wake was something different; something interesting. I could see that then, and I can see it now…perhaps this could be my reintroduction back into mainstream gaming; perhaps there was some hope in Alan Wake, some spark of light in the darkness—just enough to hold on to; just enough to light the way.
But was this spark of light enough for me to stave off Mr. ****? Mr. **** was me, only he wasn’t. He was all the worst parts of me; the bitterness, the jadedness, the sheer, maniacal hatred that stemmed from my most foul opinions on video gaming. Mr. **** was my 5,000 word review of Half-Life 2 born from utter boredom. 5,000 words designed to be just as boring as the game in question.
So sad and depressing. Great review though.
I want to sell my 3ds to get the xl, I want at least $100 for it. I have the extended battery pack on it so that should help the price. I wonder if any store will do some trade in deal.
Wait the Xl will cost $200??? Fuck that, I'll wait.
It must have been terrible over there for them to quit at this point in the production:
"Two high-profile BioShock Infinite developers have quit Irrational Games.
Product development director Tim Gerritsen and art director Nate Wells have both left the studio. Wells' departure is a particular blow. He was a 13-year Irrational veteran and one of the brains behind the first BioShock game's stand-out art style."
Yeah, it looks awesome. More power please!
Says you.
Seriously though Geek, there have been plenty of Vita is screwed stories. You may have perceived more 3DS is doomed stories because you owned a 3DS when they had their negative run.
The general consensus among the gaming press (as I hear it on podcasts and read the articles) on the Vita is, "this is a great piece of hardware, it's doomed".
You could probably find someone who'll buy your old one for $100. Craig'slist of relatives.
You won't have to wait long. The only market I see for this is Sony fanboys who have been secretly craving SSB all these years. I like the look of it and the characters included, but would not pay for it under any circunstance.
I enjoyed the article on George Kamitani. Thanks Leo. For some reason I left Muramasa half way. It wasn't because I wasn't loving it, more to do with work/commitments etc, and then I couldn't get back into it. May have to start again. What a beautiful game

Hardware
Xbox 360: 203K (-26.7%)
Nintendo 3DS: Above 124k
Nintendo DS: Above 120K
Sony continues to hide their numbers.
Gaf doing crazy math to come up with these estimates, this is about as accurate as we are going to get:
DS: 131k
360: 203k
PS3: 137.5k
Wii: 66.5k
3DS: 131k
Vita: 48.5k
Poor Vita.
Yeah, Vita needs a price drop soon. And more games wouldn't hurt either.
So Bioshock Infinite is in trouble, makes sense since its been in hiding since last years E3. Now we see all this flux with the team, old members leaving, new members joining. This is what the article says:
BioShock Infinite made a great impression at the Electronic Entertainment Expo back in June of 2011. But it seems like there might be some trouble afoot for the game. According to three sources familiar with the game, the development team has struggled to craft a full game that meets the promise of the early demos, experiencing some of the same problems that befall any ambitious game but also suffering some distinct troubles of its own. Two multiplayer modes have been cancelled and several key staff departures have coincided with an unusual twist: the executive producer of Gears of War director of production at Epic Games, Rod Fergusson, is rumored to be being brought in by the BioShock team to help finish the game.
...
Art director Nate Wells and director of product development Tim Gerritsen, two key senior members of the creative team, are the latest in a string of staffers to depart Irrational over the past 18 months. Other departures include design director Jeff McGann, producer Joe Faulstick, principal systems designer Ken Strickland, senior level designer Steve Gaynor, and systems designer Tynan Sylvester, among others. Coupled with the departure of Wells, who has been a part of Irrational for more than a decade, and Gerritsen, it seems that a significant chunk of the core Infinite team is no longer working on the game.
...
Our sources describe the process at Irrational as lacking needed focus, with teams dedicating months to doomed projects only to have them inevitably get cut. One of the largest of those failed projects was BioShock Infinite's multiplayer.
In 2010, Levine told Kotaku that multiplayer wasn't guaranteed to be in the game, but in May of this year, job listings at Irrational hinted that the studio was in fact working on a multiplayer component. Two of our sources confirm that was indeed the case. In fact, Irrational placed a large internal emphasis on multiplayer, at least partly in an effort to keep BioShock Infinite from being traded in to used game stores as quickly as the first (single-player-only) BioShock was. Irrational went through two potential multiplayer modes for Infinite, both of which were eventually cancelled. (We're unclear on whether any multiplayer modes remain.)
Wow, I hope they can pull it off. The Feb 2013 release date and all this info dont go hand in hand very well, sounds like this game needs more time.
Greg Miller, one of the only dudes I like over at IGN, has cancer.
That can't be good.
The video he has on his blog is hilarious.
