Wait, wtf? I thought U was selling like a crapsack -a sack filled with crap? Yet it's in line with 360 and ps3 launch sales? Looks like their 5 million estimate was far too optimistic and launch sales are only bad compared to Wii, during this period. Most Nintendo sales are concentrated in the holiday period so I guess it spiked then tapered.
Nintendo becomes software only by 2015 When Wii U is dead in the water.
YOU ARE MEH!
Conferences are the best part of e3.
Tried Rayman Legends Challenges App, seems it's the same 3 levels from the demo but with a few tweaks and off screen play, it also tracks your performance. Then there is a daily challenge level, at the moment two challenges in a new level murphys dungeon. It will randomly create new levels. Very good touch screen based level. There are also additional characters to unlock. Fairly happy with it, looks good on the gamepad.
Two more characters married in Fire Emblem, one more child rescued. Two more couples getting close. This game is endless, but that's fine with me!
EA Partners shutting down is not great.
Please....people have been spouting this nonsense since 2001.
They will sell at least Gamecube numbers with AAA Mario and Zelda alone....nevermind anything else like Smash Bros, Fire Emblem x Shin Megami, Xeno HD, Pokemon, Metroid etc.
Tempting:
I think I'll get the 360 version and that way Mrs. Aspro can start from scratch. I'd get the PC version for myself, but I've had enough Skyrim.
I know this is everywhere, but this is the clearest layout of what Paul Thurrott knows:
Paul Thurrott, the first source to claim the next Xbox’s yesterday-confirmed May 21 reveal date, has gone live with a new story detailing what he knows about Microsoft’s new system.
We’ve heard some of these claims from Thurrott before. But there are some new ones there, too. The bullets below are all according to Thurrott. Take this information with a grain of salt until confirmed or denied.
+1
I actually disagree with the writer who made the "14 year old" designing the characters of Dragon's Crown comment a few weeks ago... DESPITE the fact that the artist actually shot back with what could be perceived as a "then you must be gay" piece of art in response. Should women get more respect? Yes. In the videogame industry and the rest of the world, of course. The tone of the original article has such a high moral-majority, holier than thou tone to it, though, it goes way over the top. His reasons he gives, in defense of booth babes, that he wouldn't want to be seen in public playing this game... C'mon. (1) Booth Babes KNOW what they are getting into. KNOW that gaming-geeks will slobber all over them. They KNOW they are hot and they GLADLY take the MONEY to do the job. Stop defending people who are doing what they do WILLINGLY. (2) OK... Mr. Over-Sensitive apparently has people looking over his shoulder as he plays his Vita on the Subways and Buses... REALLY? You'll play with what's essentially a TOY in public... around people who inevitably will be tinkering with devices of their own, reading their tablets, playing their own games, etc, etc, etc... but the world is going to STOP if they see boobies on YOUR screen? Grow up and stop thinking the world cares what you are doing...
His article was just as babyish as the "art" of the Sorceress. It was basically "YOU'RE A BABY." "NO! YOU'RE A BABY!" "NO YOU!" "NO... YOU!"
Everything in the game is exaggerated. Women. Men. Creatures. All of it. If he has a problem with the game's art, well then HE has some sort of internal conflict with the material and shouldn't try to force-feed his readers his morality. The stand he has taken will most likely make him look like the foolish one.
This reminds me of the writer who told Anthony Birch that Tiny Tina was a stereotypical character and should be censored. He actually suggested to Patch Out her dialog in the game and tone it down in the future DLC's. Industry wide reaction to the morally offended one was: "Wut? No."
Ah yes, women's lips and breasts in videogames=male genitals. I remember an article about that. Red lipstick=male erection.
Did someone say boobs?
Tonight the bar/arcade I frequent got a copy of Crystal Castles. Despite how insanely frustrating that game can be, god it's fun as hell. Between that and a couple beers I was actually able to forget about some extremely painful dental work I had earlier.
Whoa what are some of the games that have been put out from EA Partners? Are they talking about all the third party content they release? This is HUGE news if true because EA is a giant and this is pretty bad for the industry.
EA Partners as far as I know was just the dumb name they slapped on any outside developers game that they were publishing for awhile, from Crysis to Alice Madness Returns.
So they're likely just restructuring & publishing games the way they did before EA Partners existed.
Far from it. It varied from deal to deal, it could be something as hands-off as The Orange Box and Rock Band, or something as involved as Respawn, where they cultivate an entire studio. They also provided polish and QA support beyond marketing and advertising (as with Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning). It was a great way for mid-tier companies to not have to sell their companies outright to EA or Activision but still play on the same playground as the big boys.
