Maybe it's the wine talking but ... I kind of feel like buying a Wii U with Mario U and LEGO when and if my next paycheck clears. Even though I would be a lot wiser and more mature if I just payed as much as I could into my mortgage.
With every cunt taking a piss allover Nintendo and writing them off it makes me feel a sense of solidarity with them and a need to support them like I did back in the days when everybody loved to hate the gamecube.

Hot Blooded Tough Guy Kunio: Fighting Concerto pics
Is there any word if this is coming to the US? I enjoyed the few Kunio games that came to the West. This would be of immense interest.
It's so annoying as all my VC purchases are already registered by nintendo uk. When my wii was repaired and the channels wiped, since they already had everything registered all the titles were availible to redownload from the shop at no extra cost. They could easily do the same for U without this stupid transfer everything or nothing dealio.
NSMB isn't that good. It gets better once you complete it and start finding secrets but it aint great. I think the hardware prices have come down, in the UK at least and this year you are getting Mario platformer, mario kart, Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends and more confirmed. So I guess you should look at what's coming and think if you would buy one anyway by the end of the year or not.
Pikmin 3. A man can dream!

Ugh this U update takes over an hour with a slow connection.
Moar Miiverse shots from GAF
This is funny, everyone on GAF called the following screen a bullshot:
And here is the in game Miiverse capture^. To me the in game version looks better, but it's still a very low detail game with nice lighting.
But everybody hates EA but are now mad that they will publish less games?
I started playing The Last Story, err, last night.
Game is awesome....fucking AAA epic RPG greatness. Great characters, love the interaction between them even as combat is going on. Great production values. The game has an atmosphere that reminds of a cross between Vagrant Story and Lost Odyssey. Love it.
I started playing The Last Story a while ago but I was very lazy about it and I got through the first few sections just button-mushing instead of trying to learn the battle system at all. Then I got to the first big hulking boss and he kept kicking my ass to next week and that's when I stopped playing. Tempted to try it once more. Been wanting to find another jrpg to play

Did you play with the remote or Pro Controller?
I'm playing with the Pro because I don't see any reason to use the remote & Stick in a game like this...with the Pro pad it plays just like a normal RPG on any normal pad. But, I did have to go into control options and change combat to manual control...the default is auto which is weird because then the combat just kind of plays itself. By changing to manual you can attack whenever you want...much better.
Also, some of the control tutorials on screen are actually wrong when using the Pro pad. I think they tell you dodge is A, but its actually Y and attack is A.....shit like that.
Just watched a video for Yakuza 5 and it got me thinking.
Shenmue 3 and Panzer Dragoon Saga 2 have to be SEGA's top 2 most requested sequels.....so why do they refuse to make them? Guaranteed they would at at least as good as anything else they have coming out.
If with AAA you mean a game that is a 9.0 or higher, I must disagree.
Manual attacks are much weaker, auto attack FTW. Also I play with nunchuck and wiimote because it is more comfortable to hold.
U update is good, it used to take 20+ seconds to get back to the main menu from a game. I counted, now it's between 7-10 seconds. And the disc stops spinning when you play a digital game or app. Also tested the rayman app again, ubi weren't lying, there is a new level each day. They also seemed to have taken some inspiration from the way mario kart wii handled the online rankings.
What do you mean we get a new level each day? How long does that go for?
Japanese Wii U VC releases
Launch Games (April 27th):
May 1st:
So new VC is just old VC. What a piece of crap. At least we get earthbound.
That thief article was amazing. Square has to be the worst managed game publisher out there. In development for 5 years, multiple changes in direction. A demo that took 10 months to make. Everyone leaving. So the budget will be through the roof, sales expectations will be like 5 million when a game like this should be happy to sell 2.5 million.
PSN is having some awesome deals this weekend. Tomb Raider is 50% off, which is an absolute steal if you haven't played it yet. Also, everything Resident Evil is 50%-65% off, including RE6. I'm tempted to get RE 1 & 2.
That Thief article is eye opening. As a business, Square-Enix appears fucked.
