It's the possibility of future DRM that worries me, a publisher may say they are not doing it then turn around a couple of years later and then say they are doing it. And by that point you are locked into your hardware purchase. I have a feeling we will have a softly softly approach just waiting around for the sucker punch. What you need is THE PLATFORM HOLDER to specifically rule out DRM for the entire life of the platform. Sony's "Publishers decide" current policy is just as bad IMO, but we don't have details on how it works.
What the hell happened to the team at Konami Japan that used to make Silent Hill? Do they not exist anymore...do they refuse to make more awesome Silent Hill games?
Agreed....the hardware makers need to say NO to this shit....the publishers in the gaming industry are IMO largely WORSE at business decisions than the hardware guys, so letting them do what they want is not a good thing.
Microsoft cancelling interviews? Meh, at least they have the decency to actually say so. Neverwinter y u hat me. :'(
Team Silent disbanded I believe.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Team_Silent
Team Silent consisted of staff members that had failed at other projects and originally intended to leave the company before the first Silent Hill game turned out to be a success.[3] According to a Silent Hill Homecoming Artist Team Silent was ultimately disbanded by Konami itself, because Konami wanted western developers to make the games.[4] KCET was merged into the parent company Konami in April 2005
It is so hard to get excited about E3 with this huuuuge black cloud hanging overhead. We are effectivley witnessing the death of console gaming. I figured it had one more generation to go but looks like they are trying to bury it asap.
PC and retro gaming for me I guess. Maybe Wii U if they ever get a game I want.
I'm laughing so hard with this

Polygon:
"After a month of vague corporate comments from Microsoft executives, we now know the Xbox One's game licensing policy was written from the ground up for companies. It's aggressively anti-consumer and anti-middle class, and it outright ignores underprivileged gamers. It's gross, despicable, greedy, pathetic, cowardly and out of touch with a growing global resentment for corporations."
WTF is this - "The "1.5 Mbps" necessary for a comfortable experience is nothing to blush at." So I won't even be able to play Xbox One at my relatives house 5 miles away cause the internet taps out at 1mbps

INCREDIBLE NEW GAMEPLAY VIDEO!!!!
Its the E3 demo. 3 full stages!!! The gameplay is so varied from level to level, all 3 play very differently. Seems like it will go the colors route with the 2D levels, which is fantastic. The new kind of level, that 3D rotating world thing makes for such interesting level design. There are secret paths everywhere, getting max score on those levels are going to be an absolute blast. Jumping on the clouds reminded me of Galaxy. The 2D levels should be fun as hell. 3D speed stages will add some nice variety as well. This game seems to have it all.
Graphics do suck and here is why
Despite the fact that development of Lost World began before Sonic Team even knew about Wii U, support for the system's more unique features doesn't just end with GamePad support.
So it is confirmed that this was a Wii game.
That's not actually going to be a problem. The nomenclature of "Recommended 1.5Mbps or higher Internet connection" comes from the US where Internet speeds basically go from 56K->256K->1.5M->3M->7M and so on. Basically 1.5M has been the lower-floor for "broadband", and saying that's the recommended minimum speed just means you should have DSL/Cable and not dial-up or ISDN.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileThis is basically my reaction to the days news.
Stay up.
GG I totally believe the extreme Wii U hate pubs are displaying has to do with the future DRM of the console industry. nintendo has a console that does not support it, so they wont support the console.
Oh well what a fucking brilliant move by Konami.
I know it pretty much flew under the radar but Spelunker was released on the Wii U's VC this week. While no one else probably gives a crap I can't help but find their VC selection highly amusing. When I was a kid Solomon's Key and Spelunker were the two games that I literally spent years trying to track down in stores and was never able to find (they were earlery NES releases and I think came out before I even had the system). And now, here they both are. I doubt I'll grab Spelunker though. It's always gotten some pretty shitty reviews, and at $5 I don't think I'm willing to even give it a shot. Solomon's Key was still awesome though.
So you think the PS4 will be similar to the Xbox One in that regard?
For all third party games, yes.
