Xbox One sales will plummet after every hurricane season in Florida now.
Was thinking the same thing.
State of Decay is not an easy game to explain. If I had to liken it to anything, it would be The Sims: Zombies. Your characters have traits; some determine how well they fight, some determine their stamina, others focus on Cooking, Building, Leadership, etc. You need to gather resources, build outposts, manage your people while fighting Zombie Hordes, rescuing survivors and surveying the land. There's --A LOT-- to do.
Zombies are literally everywhere and they are attracted to noise: Fire a gun, they come running. Open a door they may not notice; BASH a locked door and you are sure to get their attention. You can search, which makes a little noise or search quickly which makes a lot.
Currency is useless now so what you can take from your outpost's stores is measure in influence. Bring back guns, food and ammo, your influence jumps up a lot. Bring back a broken Shovel (weapon) or some junk and it goes up a little. Influence is currency for equipment, whereas Fame seems to give you the ability to lead people. Assign them jobs, make them build more beds, for example. There are rival outposts as well and your Fame plays into that as well.
Fighting is a simple X,X,X affair. You'll want a melee weapon or two. Guns are Left Trigger = Sights, Right Trigger = Fire! "B" makes you crouch so you are less noticeable; crouching in a bush keeps you hidden. The skills you level up will eventually lead to Special Attacks or Specialities. They are the basic "the more you use them, the better you get kind."
I have to say the graphics are BUTT-UGLY. There's clipping, screen-tearing and bad pop-in --BUT-- the concepts are so unique, you're not going to care. The game does an excellent job at creating a sense of Dread --and-- just like another recent ZombiU game, don't get too attached to one character, cause death is PERMANENT!
The first character I played as **whom I assumed to be the lead character** was literally ripped to shreds on the first night I tried to go out to explore the first neighborhood. The first woman I played as met a similar fate when she first encountered a "Fat Zombie!"
**more as I play or remember!**
Thanks Leo, sounds awesome.
Murdered: Soul Suspect is the Most Refreshing Game of E3
This looks really freaking good. It's like LA Noire meets Geist.
Man, the Xbox One just sounds awful to me. GAF is full of people calling the news "reasonable" though.
2K Sports will not publish NBA 2K14 for Wii U. "We are not doing a Wii U version this year," Argent said. "The decision was made internally that our resources would be best put toward making a really amazing current-generation and next generation game, and we did not want to take resources away from making a great experience on those platforms."
Bummer about the Wii U version.
More bummer that LeBron is treated like a god on the cover.
The entire east coast really.
I lost my power for almost a week 2 years ago thanks to that fucking tropical storm.
Uh, why don't you just move like a civilised person?
Now that it is confirmed, no way I am getting a Xbox One.
"“With Xbox One you can game offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console, or one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library. Offline gaming is not possible after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies."
My peeps would miss me.
Sounds to me like you should deal with it.
Funny, I thought that's what the right of first sale is for.

Watching this Konami pre-E3 video, what is this - Konami N.Direct? Is this what all Japanese companies are going for these days?
HUGE Xbox news, MS details used games.

Yeah that's what I noticed, they haven't really resolved the problem they've tried to shift blame saying: We're not charging or requiring but publishers can. And probably on PS4 too.
Wii U not current or next gen apparently
And developing for it takes resources away from the good platforms.
Damn the Xbox one, it's too uncertain, too niggling. I feel like these tiny differences are leading to a slippery slope of my rights taken away and stupid requirements that annoy you. I cannot support this platform with my money, no matter how many great games it's going to get. As a consumer I also feel like publishers are wanting to punish me for being an avid gamer and I don't like the whole tracking/surveillance aspect of always online, always on Kinect watching you etc. And also, we learned out Titan, Respawns new game and it uses the cloud and that is required and will NOT work on some slower connections and when the cloud is long dead how will the game work? Crap if you want to keep and collect your games for many years.
I think I'm pretty much done with Konami as a company.
It's all they do. Unless they revive Elebits or make a new 2D Metroidvania I'm out.
Okay, lines are closed for gameunder, at least i got one of you on the next show.
