I also loved the N64 Castlevania which everyone seems to hate, and have found the handheld games I've tried to be a poor rippoff of Symphony Of The Night.

Castlevania 64 was awful.

I thought the GBA and DS trilogies were all really good games (some of them great even).  I'm sorry to hear they didn't sell well, I thought they'd done reasonably well (otherwise why release six of them?).

I was even more sorry to hear that Lords of Shadow was the best selling Castlevania game ever.  That game is an abomination.  I didn't even consider the 3DS game because it had Lords of Shadow in its title so it must have somehow been related to that abomination.

So ... while I am sad that there won't be any Metroidvanias on 3DS, if Lords of Shadow is what Castlevania is nowdays ... good riddance to bad shit.

To me CV is the 2D metroidvania Igarashi games, I don't even see LOS as a Cv game. Mirror of Fates demo was horribad.

So, if you don't read the aquisitions thread, now I have:

A Playstation 4 with no games.

A WiiU game (third-party exclusive) but no Wii U.

Clearly Nintendo has better third-party support than Sony.

I don't foresee the series going to the Wii U outside of GBA games (and possible DS or downloadable version), but the 3DS will get another installment. Fortunately it won't be like Mirror of Fate. No one seemed to like that game, and I have a feeling no one will like the HD port of it either. Not sure if they'll try something new or go back to the Metroidvania style (that in all fairness was played out and the main reason for Ecclesia not doing well), but they're going to want to do a portable game again at some point, but it's too action oriented for a handheld, and it's not happening on the Vita.

I would day one a 3ds metroidvania, would look so cool in 3d. I want 2d graphics in 3d, not this 2.5 d nonsense.
