On phone so no link but on gaf there is a story of a dog saving his owner by calling 911. Sorry cat, dog wins.
Ok fine cat was more badass. Dogs are still better when they aren't psycho evil assholes like the dog who attacked the boy. The difference is most dogs are not assholes, most cats are.
What's the point of a dog calling 911? Can it ruff out the incident and address?
Why do something like this for a well anticipated game? It's getting great reviews, people are happy with it. What is the purpose of an article like this? Do they do this with a lot of other games too?
That polygon article is beyond retarded. All that bullshit supposed research and all the charts and graphs and numbers to say that MK8 will only sell a small fraction of previous instalments because the U install base is only a small fraction of that of previous Nintendo consoles and handhelds.
What the shit what's more regularly than on a yearly basis? Ass Creed monthly?

People are paid for this shit?
It's a pretty obvious extrapolation anyway, do we need a statistical analysis for a new game? And why only this new game? If they do it I want them to take it through for every game and then later go back and see how their predictions went against actual sales. An actual series of features. It just feels like a dogpile on an already maligned system. It's got a big new game, one of the very few it's going to get this year and instead of enjoying it they just want to rag on how little it's going to sell? Before it's even released? Just feels weird.
As a Toronto Maple Leafs fan it was bittersweet for me. Bitter because it was Montreal, sweet because of what Boston did to the Leafs last year plus Montreal is the only Canadian team left in the playoffs.
"The other notable omission is in the cast of characters’ diversity. After 30 years there are still zero Mario characters of color, a problem that Mario Kart 8 highlights by lining up all the characters on a single screen. When it comes to human characters, Mario Kart 8 is overwhelmingly white. Of the 29 drivers, 14 are human (including Toad and Toadette), and every single one of them is white. While it’d be atypical of Nintendo to introduce new characters into a Mario Kart game, it’s also where the deficit is the most obvious, and during play I found myself disappointed that Nintendo’s stable of characters so painfully fails to reflect the diversity of its audience."
We need a Foolz joke here.
I didn't make this BTW^ but it looks like an Aspro 'shop.

You're a Maple fan? I thought you were a Canuck fan for some reason.
Two months before Mario Kart 7 came out, there were only 6.68 million 3DSs sold. Yeah, it was likely higher than that by the time it came round, but it helped sales. Do they honestly believe things will just sit?
For reference, end of 2011, there were 15 million 3DS consoles sold. 9 million added in just 3 months thanks to Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7.
The N64 had shipped 6.1M at the end of FY1997 and MK64 was released that FY in Japan and NA. It outsold its install base by a factor of almost 2...
LOL look, Polygon modded the user comments which said it was clickbait:
Huh I always thought it was the other way around. The sensor bar was getting the it signal from the wiimote.

LOL wut?
Makes me want an Xbone even less.
Maybe but the N64's userbase was growing rapidly, whereas the Wii U's userbase may actually be shrinking for all I know.
