Pfft...just wait until next generation when Nintendo is bleeding money out its ass over a fucking sleeping clock.
You seem to miss the part where gaming is a tiny profitable divsion of a much larger company making billion dollar losses overall.
If that's true then FF has always been king to you anyway.
XCX is on Wii U but that's ancient hardware to some too. What does it matter, hopefully they are both good games.
Why wait? We've had 4 straight years of losses already reported.
But GG you are criticizing game sites for only focusing in sony's game division, they do that cause they are game sites.
Of course I hope they are both good games, I just hope FF is better, the ceiling is higher for that game.
Tunnel vision much?
I'm so glad PS4s 13.5 million sales can so easily erase and blot out the $1.9 billion year loss the company is heading towards.
Sony is staring down the barrel of a gun here and sites like pretending that the games division somehow offsets that. These divisions don't operate in a bubble, the company as a whole needs to act across its whole range otherwise there may not have been a gaming division to begin with. If it weren't for Sonys electronics business how would PS have even gotten off the ground in the first place? If it wasn't for the financial backing from the wider business would PS1 have even been released?
Gaming sites reporting of financials is childish and ridiculous and ignores the wider implications at hand.
What happens if Sony has to sell off the gaming division to raise funds and pay off their debt? What happens if Sony needs to sell expensive property that the gaming division operates in to raise funds? What happens if it spins off and loses access and rights to the rest of Sonys content and services? What about the implications of new ownership? What if the companies wider losses means it has to reduce the budget of its AAA games or reduce the output? What if the gaming divisions profits are being used to shore up the other less profitable, or loss making divisions within the company? That means less money for games.
If we're just talking gaming divisions here Sony Gaming division lost billions in the PS3 era, if it weren't for the larger company would they even be able to afford to launch a PS4 in the first place? All these things don't exist in a bubble. The gaming media acts like idiots frankly in a large number of ways, sticking its fingers in its ears is one of them. There's a conscious selectiveness at work to hear some things and ignore others. And that goes for everything to do with gaming, not just financials. I see it everyday when I see the same story reported in different ways, 5 times for every story.
How is the ceiling higher for either game? They're both RPG's with a ton of funding made by talented studios. The only thing the ceiling is higher for is FF's production values. That's about it.
Its just like politics. A big ol' game of spin.
Maybe because FF is an older and more important franchise with a long history, whilst Xenoblade is just one game so far?
I consider Xeno as going back to the original PS1 game, which was also right up there with the FF titles of the day. So to me its not a new franchise.
A ton more is possible on a PS4 than a wii u, FF will have moments that that will be insane like the leviathan battle, there can be nothing like that in Xenoblade.
And FF has always been different, this new one will have another brand new combat system, xeno will have mostly the same one
FFXV just looks like a better game.
GG when Sony actually moves the game division it will become a gaming story. For now what sony's mobile phone division is losing is not important news for game sites.
Fuck FF. Fuck xenoblade. Fuck everyone.
Go back to your PC strategy game nonsense.
Dude, these guys are assholes. I got war declared on me for no fucking reason, and the minute that happens, the rest of the players jump in on the pile and also declare war.
Me first!
That's like a scifi civilization right? Shit I need to play it. I think I haven't given strategy games a proper try I am actually kind of afraid that I would get hooked.
I think they declared war on you because you invaded their fucking planet.
If you say so. To me they both look equally awesome but wtf do I know.
Yeah, it's pretty much it. The game looks and plays a lot like Civ V, but the setting, units and tech all are different.
That's the thing, those assholes also came invading! As a matter of fact, I arrived first. >_<
Are they English?
