Theres a lot to do and many people may prefer the simpler games but I'm all for the changes.
Thanks for the impressions. I'm sure I'll play it some day. I'm going in with low expectations, as I've always liked the original best because it's the purest vision. I'll enjoy it regardless though as it's a great and unique series.
Replaying Skyward sword for the first time is eye opening in the wake of New Zelda.
There are so many features that were introduced or simulated in Skyward sword that were fleshed out in BOTW and TOTK.
I'm 13 hours in with 2 dungeons down and already it feels so satisfying. I'd forgotten that they literally made the outdoor areas like an outside Dungeon too.
I remember robio not liking that, in a post like 12 years ago or something 😂
I love it. Aside from a few control quirks here and there this is a really satisying injection of classic Zelda.
Also I'd forgotten how weird Zelda can be and how that's where a lot of the charm came from. With the last two Zeldas they really toned down the weird stuff and even the interface and text boxes/menus are more like a modern tablet.
The old games have LOTR style to the menus like an old book or manuscript.
Oh yeah, integrating Wii sport bowling into bomb rolling is so good.
The eldin boss is like the pins and you have to roll bombs into his mouth down this massive slope.
There's also a bit where you have to aim and roll a bomb along a corridor to hit a switch.
And it made me smile when I realised the game was tracking the angle of my wrist, it's even subtly displayed on screen with a real time curving arrow.
So I tried spinning and curling the bomb and it worked.
The motion controls for sword play take a while to get used too, but once you're in the zone it can be incredibly satisfying, and responsive.
I think the controls here are more accurate than the Wii version.
Actually watching visual clues and basing your next strike on what you see at a fast pace feels excellent. Waggling and hoping for the best only works for a few enemies. Other ones will roast you for it.
Oh there's a weird control glitch for flying the bird with motion.
It's constantly drifting to the left and I have to curve my wrist quite far to the right just to go straight ahead. Thankfully the button controls work great, but wish there was an easier to switch between them, or enable or disable them for certain actions.

There's no shame in admitting you have a drinking problem GG. We're all here for you.
Glad you are enjoying Skyward Sword GG! It gets too much hate these days. Yeah it wasn't as good as other Zelda's but it's still an amazing game. A lot of the issues come later. The dungeons though are great.
I just bought a used phone that still cost as much two Switch OLEDs combined.
At full price you could buy a PS5, Xbox Series X, switch and have money left to buy a tablet too.
I feel dirty. But I don't use tablets or laptops these days, so I wanted something bigger that will get used a lot.
This things got a 2k OLED screen.
How are these things more costly than an expensive laptop price??
Phones tend to be tied to phone plans here so you kind of get them for free but not really. So I have $1000 phones but never paid $1000 for it.
So I fixed my PC! It needed a bios update which had the fix it's working great now. Well I haven't tried oculus again, I'll do that this weekend. But oh man I tried cyberpunk, what a huge difference! Runs smooth on 1440p with ultra quality. 4k still 30fps with this graphics card.

I am equal parts happy for you and jealous of your disposable income.

I really like the game, the design is so good.
It actually tries a lot of new things and they even go to the extent of introducing new species.
Maybe it's because I'm coming off TOTK but I'm appreciating everything classic Zelda does that TOTK doesn't do and vice versa.
Like you said with BOTW, if they ever actually merged the open world of the new games with the dungeons of the old, it could be a perfect Zelda experience.
My new phone arrived, the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
It came out last year but it's a super high end phone. The display is awesome and the form factor is actually smaller than I expected. It's very powerful and versatile.
Thinking of using Netflix games to play more indies on this as part of my Netflix membership.
You can use the phone to wirelessly display on a monitor or TV too and use it like a PC.
I know someone with a Galaxy Fold. The folding glass is super fragile, might want to be carefull with that.
Which version?
Transferring WhatsApp chats is a pain in the fecking ass at the moment. The app logs you out of one phone then requires both phones operational to transfer.
Only you're now logged out of 1 phone so can't do it.
Even using Google drive I can't get the chats copied over.
Device is awesome though, best tech I've ever used hands down.
That sucks.
It eliminates the jaggies and makes the backgrounds sharper too.
Well, I have five days off work starting tomorrow. Maybe I'll try to get into RE Village.
Good choice. One of the better entries.

Pikmin 4 completed at 100 percent.

Gg, have you ever owned an iPhone? I was curious of your opinion about them.
