Yup. As long as I use my vacation time.
I'd forgotten tomorrow's Groundhog's day. Here's to six more weeks of winter! *crosses fingers*
Didn;t we used to call you Hamster?
Have fun, I am having one of those next weekend.
Yes. Iga started that nickname.
Thanks! I've been on a surprisingly good gaming streak so far this year and wanted to spend some extra time playing this weekend.
It's just one day off but it repeats.
so has anyone ever thought of that scenario. You are stuck in Groundhog Day, obviously you can do a million different things, some good, some horrible. Let's say you get to the phase where you just want to attack your backlog and play some games. But the day resets so your save file never carries over, basically any long game is nearly unfinishable, almost a strange form of monkey paw where you get infinite time to play but you can't finish anything that takes more than 24 hours. What do you do. Do you keep speed running the first part of the game until you can maybe finish it in time. Do you simply give up on those games. Do you try some hacking method and borrow other save files later in the game. It would drive me nuts cause I am actually not one to do crazy long sessions, even shorter games I like to take a few days to get through it.
Jesus, that went depressing in a hurry! I'd switch to pick up and play games, sports, puzzles, online shooters -- you could get insanely good at online multiplayer of any sort.
I'd probably also dabble in the black arts of PC hacking so I could jump to levels directly in linear games.
This senario sounds just like 80s and 90s console gaming.
Old games with a password system would actually work in this scenario since the passwords would work at any time. Endless replaying of Faxanadu.
Love how the guy in the picture is even wearing the safetybelts.
You're in luck, EG just reviewed a foldaway 'budget' option.
Several EU Retail Chains No Longer Stocking XB Games Sacre bleu!
This has been inevitable for years now. Xbox game sections are very small compared to PS5 and Switch in all stores, and one toy chain stopped stocking Xbox games years ago already.
Also, I find it prejudiced and insulting that the tag just seems to assume all Europeans speak French.
Sony seems to be researching a vita 2 with AMD. if it happens it won't be for a few years.
It's not just Xbox games. My local Walmart and Target haven't restocked Xbox or PS games after Christmas. Even the Switch section has noticiably fewer games available with huge gaps on the shelves. Best Buy hardly has any games at all. It's sad to see.
I've considered such things many, many times before. I've had so many of these in my cart on Amazon but so far I have resisted. One of these days . . .
I played RE Code Veronica X (PS2/PS4) for an hour last night. It still holds up surprisingly well. It didn't take me long to get the hang of the controls either. It really could use the REmake treatment, though. I'd pay full price for it.
So you're saying the actual headline should have read:
Several EU Retail Chains still stocking PS and Switch games Sacre bleu!
I can't speak to the EU but here in Colorado it would read, "Several Retail Chains No Longer Restocking Xbox and PS games, and are scaling back Switch games."
The real takeaway I had was the prices. Everything was still marked up full price. I know years ago I used to actually buy a lot of my games at Target because they were really good about putting games on sale or offering decent discounts as games got a little bit older. Those days are definitely gone. I think that's probably why I stopped buying my games from there in the first place.
Interesting article on Eurogamer about DLSS frame generation being made compatible with older NVIDIA graphics cards.
Oddly it's because FSR is open source and they swap out the Nvidia solution for FSR but it only works on Nvidia cards.
Surprisingly, it works quite well they say. Bodes well for Switch 2, if frame generation can be used there. There are already switch games using FSR right now. DLSS + frame generation will make it easier for more demanding games to run on it.
