Hell yeah brother! Sugar Mommy for the win!
Really enjoyed the original so am definitely interested in this. Will be getting the PS5 version most likely.
I'm playing the Unicorn Overlord demo now and it's like my dream 2d fire emblem game. Except the one battle I did which was weird and I hope not indicative of the battle segments. It just all happened automatically with no real input.
Also tried and binned the Contra demo, Meh the wii version was better. Might as well get Blazing Chrome instead.
Also tried Pepper Grinder, the gameplay is good but the presentation is oddly flat.
Unicorn Overlord has you set up formations of little groups. You simply point them towards an enemy and they engage in battle. The battles play out automatically. You aren't selecting moves or skills to use. Before the battle starts there's an indicator which shows you how much damage you will deal compared to receive.
You can pause the game when selecting units, otherwise the enemy and your own units will keep moving according to your last issued orders.
There's several difficulties if you are more into the story. I love everything about the game as you can tell they are trying to make a 2D high end Fire Emblem, there are so many similarities. But something about this auto combat feels off to me.
I'm used to either doing turn based JRPG encounters or grid based tactical combat based on individual characters moved around specifically.
This is like, select a group of people and just point them to the enemy.
The animation for the fights is excellent, but when they're repeated so much you end up fast forwarding or skipping.
I'm conflicted to whether or not I want this game. I guess if the price drops like that Sentinals game I'd pick it up.
I'm thinking about it too, but boy that was a long game. I don't know if I want to invest 90 plus hours into it again, even with the additional content and stories.
Tried the Contra demo on the PS5. Kind of cool.
Unicorn Overlord looks very cool. Am very interested in that. Will check out that demo later on.
Good point. Currently playing Persona 3 Reload and that’s a damn long ass game as well.
I wish it had SNES/Genesis-styled pixel art, though. The art style it has is a little generic but the gameplay more than makes up for it, IMO. And I wasn't expecting to like it at all, lol. Unexpected surprise.
I've had a headache on the left side of my brain for 8 days now. I usually associate these with a lack of caffeine, which I rarely drink anymore except for a strong cup of tea in the morning. Anyway, I woke up at 2:30 in the morning because it took over the entire left side of my skull, had a cup of tea, 50 milligrams of caffeine in a pill, and that; 's staved off the pain for 4 hours, but now it is back. At least, I have work for the next 10 hours to distract me.
I am not going to bother searching the internet as to what it could be as there is nothing as futile as seeking medical information on the internet. Well, console wars I guess is a bit more futile. And talking about covid/ partisan politics
I hate headaches. I've had awful tension headaches for over a year after my first Covid infection. Barely had them prior.
That would be good for Sony and the PC VR scene. Smart move.
Yeah, I fully agree. Sony seems to have been rudderless on the VR2, this has teh possibility of injecting some interest.
Yeah when I first started it up I wasn’t too thrilled about the graphics either but the gameplay won me over. Like how you can level up the guns twice and the overcharge mechanic is neat. The perk system further spruces things up.
Sorry to hear that Aspro. Hope the headache clears up soon.
Aspro go see a doctor immediately. What if if its something serious?
Don't sleep on Octopath Traveler 2.
If I was only allowed to keep 1 game out of Mario Wonder, Zelda TOTK and Octo 2, I would choose Octo 2.
I don't pay much attention to the industry these days but I saw a video where it got great reviews at most outlets.
I've seen YouTube video saying it's an instant masterpiece etc.
I can't explain it, I went back to the first game which is still a great time, but It didn't rekindle the fire I'm getting from the second game.
I feel like the team went all out in this game and didn't get the recognition they deserve.
I love it so much I've now downloaded, re-downloaded the demos for Live a Live, Triangle Strategy and Star Ocean 2 Remake, to get my 2D HD vibes again.
Oh BTW!
I was watching an Endless Ocean Blue World playthrough on YouTube.
Did you know that Satoru Iwata was co-director of the game? Maybe that's why the second game evolved in the way it did. I remember hearing years ago that he was a personal fan of the games.
Funny I also went back to watch ps3 Aquanaught Holiday videos.
Yeah I definitely want to get Octopath Traveler 2 sometime soon. Really enjoyed the first one.
I don't have access to doctors where I live, none of them are taking new patients and have not for over a year and a half. Ironically I have private health care adn our government's socialized health care at my disposal, but that doesn't mean anything if the doctors in my region are already past their stretching point for taking in patients.
When there was a doctor who could take in new patients a couple of years ago and I was having heart issues I went in and had 10 minutes to talk with her. TEN. She told me to eat a banana a day and some dates (barely spoke English). So yeah, socialized medicine for the win. I called up the private health care company I pay monthly to ask where I can go see a doctor, and they were like, "nah fool, this shit you pay for is only for surgery". But I cannot get surgery without a referral from a doctor I cannot see because there are not any. You have to have a sense of humour in Australia.
That sounds nuts.
Here it's hard to get an appointment unless it's an emergency. I had to wait 6 weeks for a fricking phone appointment.
So I started Spiritfarer.
You have a boat which is your base. You build facilities for your guests using a blueprint station like Animal Crossing and other games. Go onto islands and explore the ocean to gather ingredients to craft these facilities. You have to cook and hug your guests to keep them happy.
It's a cozy game and I like it alot. What I don't enjoy is having to press A repeatedly to advance dialogue. It's excessive here, having to press A after 2 or even 1 word, by word. My thumb hurt from this yesterday.
Otherwise once you set a destination and have to wait for your boat to get there. There's an onscreen bar to see how far you away from your destination.
Only there's not much to do in these gaps. It's not for loading or anything. It's a deliberate wait to, I can only guess give you the atmosphere and time to relax?
Only it gets kinda boring when you're trying to go from place to place and endure several periods of time wasting.
