My children went to see A Minecraft Movie and loved it. They have been playing the original and Dungeons all weekend. I thought the Minecraft brand was dying and being replaced by Roblox.

Just goes to show you're out of the loop gramps. Minecampf is still all the rage with us groovy youngsters!

Roblox did dethrone Minecraft for a while a couple years ago, but then I guess around 3 years ago it had a big resurgence. According to my son, it is very much based on what? Streamers are currently playing it. That goes way farther into a game's popularity.

I was thinking about this. I don't see a future where Minecraft Roblox or Fortnite ever go away (unless one of them screws with the formula).
Minecraft is used as a teaching tool in schools, which is the "entry drug" Then they move onto Roblox (while still dabbling in MC), then onto Fortnite. Then if they stick with gaming, they move on to the wider world, or if they don't, they "outgrow" games.
Microsoft have been good shepards of MC. I can see Epic stuffing up Fortnite somewhere along the way - less so that Roblox - it's only threats are regulation and litigation.
I've been playing Minecraft this week for the first time. Foiled by my daughter who has since mastered it and won;t let me near the Switch.
Maybe get the Java Edition on Steamdeck?

Nope, indeed.
Isn't that the game that was banned in Germany?

I'd pay $80 for an open world Pilotwings on Switch 2.
Listening to the latest episdoe of the Game Under Podcast while playing Jungle Hunt Atari 2600, neither of which has been price gouged ...yet.
Deal with it.
No.
It now costs the same as the Switch 2 bundle including Mario Kart World.
Any PS5 owners who are going to pick up Indiana Jones?
Maybe someday on sale. I'm not all that interested in it, unfortunately.
Did not consider that - I guess you could install it from the desktop... I've not fiddled with the desktop mode at all on the Steamdeck yet.
