It's a little linear, but cool weapons, gadgets, characters and missions.
Gamespot gave this game a 9.9
http://uk.gamespot.com/n64/action/perfectdark/review.html
They should've given it a ten.
Thinking back, first time through Perfect Dark was better than Goldeneye. On reflection Goldeneyes levels were tighter which made repeat play more fun. Whereas in PD you had to slog through overlong, more linear levels. Rather Goldeneye's circular designs.
Your reflection is wrong. GoldenEye had many levels that were crap, like the tank, statue, cradle and all other levels with infinite enemies.
PD had some levels you could take multiple routes through. The villa, the crash site, airplane, blade runner like level, the area 51 entrace level and many more. Some levels had missions you could do in multiple ways, like letting Jonathan escape with Elvis, while you take the hoverbike. He will appear in another level to help you, if you have done this. You can have a hoverbike appear in the snow level, by doing some work in the airplane level. You can start in different levels in the airplane, by taking different route in the airport level.
So in other words Perfect Dark > GoldenEye
Perfect dark levels were great, but too long, sometimes too hard and not circular like Goldeneyes levels.
Goldeneye lends itself towards repeat play, like in Halo with its unpredictable AI and circular rooms.
Perfect dark has some kick ass weapons though, the robocop gun, laptop gun, the secondary features. Just awesome.
I agree with Iga. Perfect Dark > Goldeneye
I love them both and on the whole PD is probably better than Goldeneye. But if I feel like replaying one for a blast, I always choose Goldeneye.
I just saw that Play.com has new listings for Brutal Legend and Call of Duty Modern warfare 2.
On Wii.
I contacted Revogamers and heard that CODMW2 was still being developed for Wii but that they never said it would be at E3 and that if it was cancelled they would be contacted.
Not sure what to think. Brutal legend Wii we've known about for a while and that wasn't at E3 either.
Too long? Most did not last longer than 5 minutes. I think you have Turok 2 mixed-up with Perfect Dark!
Did you speed run? WTF?
