TR Underworld: I've been playing this one a bit more. Camera is AWFUL, a good number of weird glitches and controls are a bit loose. Other than that, it's TR all the way. Nice puzzling, exploration and platforming. Nothing breathtaking, however. Solid.
PGR4: Slowly warming up to this one. Neat additions such as dynamic weather and new race modes keep things interesting throughout career mode. Bikes are fine.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologue: I'm 2/3 through the events, nailed class C and B already. And I haven't even touched arcade mode! There's a drifting one that I want to try.
...any poppas at The VG Press should really play this game. Has some poignant moments. Truly is one of the best RPGs of all time. So glad they finally brought it to this country!
I've been playing a LOT of Ultimate Doom and Doom II this weekend, and having an absolute blast with them. They just don't make FPS like these anymore.
I've also been playing Aegis Wing for Xbox 360 (video review). It's a horizontal, side-scrolling, space shooter, and it completely FREE on XBLA. If you like shooters and/or FREE games, and own an Xbox 360, then I highly recommend downloading this one. It's not the greatest shooter, but it's still a lot of fun to play. Oh, and did I mention that it's FREE?

I've been playing Prototype and Mass Effect. Good stuff.
Also, there are three more games that I'll be playing later today. Here's a hint. They're three un-released Ubisoft Wii games. And they're not animal related..

I loved the SNES version. Absolutely without a doubt the best story of any game in the 16 bit era and to some extent it still holds it own today. Can you offer any comparison between the original and the update? Did it get fleshed out at all or is it just like DQ IV where they only made the slightest changes to the dialogue and main story?
Art Style: BOXLIFE for me at the moment, and I may follow that up with Art Style: AQUIA if tomorrow's downloadable announcement doesn't produce anything else of interest. And in a few days I'll likely go back to TWEWY and replay a few scenarios and unlock some of those special reports.
Ugh. Couldn't tell you. It never came to the US Super Nintendo and I never use emulators so I never had any opportunity to play the original!
There are sooo many intricacies, I can't see them all being done back in the SNES era, but this game is legendary, so I could be wrong!
I finally played the translated emulated version about 3 years ago (first time I'd touched an emulator in almost a decade) when I was getting geared up for DQVIII, and I was just wowed by it. They told a story in that game that was far more mature and complex than any RPG I had seen from that time (and even into the PS1 era). I'll have to do some researching to see what changes were made on the PS2 remake which I believe the DS version is based on.
Okay upon further review it does look like some stuff has been changed, though primarily it's combat related (your party has 4 people instead of 3 and there are more monster types). No one is really making comments on differences in the story (understandable I suppose since few reviewers probably played the first), but apparently there's a 3rd choice for your wife, so my guess is there's been some enhancement to the story too. Oy. . . guess I know my next purchase.
I've been iffy though since the DQIV DS version left me a little disappointed as so little was changed other than graphics. . . and character accents. . . not that I'm taking anything away from that. I mean, a game is nothing without bad Scottish accents.
Sort of on topic, there are reports that DQIX has broken one day sales records in Japan, almost 3million sold in one day. To put that in perspective, Halo 3 sold 2.5 million. DQIX sold more than that! WOW!
But no surprise. Don't like 1 in 5 people in Japan have a DS by now? Imagine all of them buying a copy of DQIX!!!
Wow. I really, really shouldn't complain, considering I got it for
free --BUT-- what a buggy, piece of CRAP Red Alert 3 is! This game was
released back in April, I think, and there is a major glitch in it...
...Audio
just completely shuts off randomly and cannot be restored unless you
quit the game, and reload it from the XMB. This happens in single
player, in Skirmish and Multi-player too! You have Co-Commanders in
this game that speak to you and you are constantly getting mid-mission
updates... No sound, no clue!
This game has been out since APRIL
and EA WON'T release a patch! They are aware of the problem,
acknowledged it, but have stopped answering inquiries and have decided
to NOT be bothered patching it!
And of course, I'm still playing BlazBlue.
And when I'm on the crapper or traveling, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and this new Korean golf game, Pangya Golf is in my PSP nowadays.
Pangya Golf is surprisingly good. I like it better than Hot Shots Golf 2, which I also play once in awhile.

Corn!
You've ruined corn for me, Leo! Ruined . . . corn! Damn you! *cries*
I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 1943, love it.
Me too. It's really good. Better than I expected. And fun.
