No, the Skies of Arcadia team were not all female. Save that scene for your fantasies.
Per your request, excerpts from the Nintendo Power interview with the Producer of Skies of Arcadia, Rieko Kodama:
Why was there never a Phantasy Star V? It seems to have been a popular and successful series. Was there ever a point at which a sequel was in the design stage?
Actually, when IV was finished, we did talk about what the story of Phantasy Star V would be if we ever made it. It was more of a rough concept than a detailed story. We were discussing things like "Is Dark Force really evil?" "Are there gods in the Phantasy Star universe?" "What is the Light Force in the work that opposes Dark Force? Is it justice?" If we had made a Phantasy Star V, I think we would have tried to tie up the entire series, the whole Phantasy Star universe.
Her current projects are labeled as "Classified. Sorry!"
Skies of Arcadia felt like a bit of a throwback to the RPGs of the 16 bit era. Was that something you had in mind when you started the project?
I certainly wouldn't say that was out intention, but as I recall, we were all feeling something of a backlash against the CG-movie-packed games that were in style at the time. it was very important to us that the player feel in control of the characters, instead of having the game switch to CG movies all the time.
7th Dragon is her most recent game - JP only.
Tickle ma ballz
Ah, crap. Does anyone know why there was no sequel? They seemed to have some sort of success with it if they persevered with the GC port.
I bloody hope that Rogue Squadron Wii isn't just a port of the GC games.
Is there any word on what happened with the legal wrangling behind the ex-Factor 5 employees and the new Julian Eggebrect outfit?
This is listed for an April release?
So I played about 1 and a half hours of Miles Edgeworth last night.
Game kicks you right into it, I like a pre-amble and there is none here, but other Ace Attorney games do that too.
I'm getting more used to the controls, if you want touch screen only you have to use the bottom screen almost like playing a DS FPS with the action on the top screen.
A lot of is is the same stuff renamed, like LOGIC and ORGANISER vs Court record.
It's still more impersonal seeing character not talking at you, but to the side to others. You don't get that same sort of feeling of being part of it.
I did a cross examination, only not in a court room, using LOGIC to beat the guy.
There's not much to say, this is still the same game series and still very, very similar. The camera change makes a minor change, renaming menus makes a minor change.
I can't believe I have bought 5 games in a series in one generation, it's unprecedented for me. I know its because the first 3 DS games were gba ports, but its still pretty incredible to me.
I buy these games like I've bought series of crime novels with the same character before. Just to see the next chapter.
It makes me wonder why we dont have more story based games in terms of where the story and characters are the draw, not the gameplay. It must hard to do though, like creating a hit TV series.
