Avatar producer says 3D is here to stay
“People are going to want 3D in their homes. The initial 3D TVs sold out at Best Buy. Why? Because it’s a great quality experience. We need to introduce content at a certain quality level. We need to eliminate confusion in the electronics sector. We need to be clear with the consumer with what they’re getting. We don’t need 27 different ways of watching something in 3D. We should have multiple companies, because that’s good for the industry, but we need to make sure we do this right. When it comes to the glasses, I see glasses as an opportunity, not a deterrent. How do we not make the glasses the white elephant in the room? People wear glasses every day. People wear sunglasses to the beach. They’re part of our life. How do we stylize them or plug them into a USB port and get additional codes for a game? Sure, we’re going to have 3D without glasses in the future, but if we make it consistent that people know they can view 3D in their homes and other people’s homes, people will upgrade to 3D.” - Jon Landau, producer
3D Sucks! Boo!
Actually, I never owned or played a Colecovision. Everybody I knew back in the day had an Atari. I respect the Colecovision for being part of the early days of gaming, and I'm certain I would have enjoyed it if i had one. Emulators can be a great thing, but I can't imagine playing Colecovision games on an emulator; it seems like it would be too cumbersome with the many buttons it had. In my opinion, the only way to truely enjoy Colecovision games would be on a real Colecovision.
Smear Vaseline all over the screen, and that's what Avatar looked like in the theater to me. If 3D TVs are worse than the theater, then I definitely don't want any part of it.
I had one friend that had it back in the day, and I drooled over it. Hell all the kids in the neighborhood did. I remember seeing Donkey Kong on it, and at the time it seemed so close to the arcade version as opposed to the Atari 2600 version that just looked like a bunch of blocks.
But yeah I agree with you. Because of that controller this is a tough system to emulate, and not really worth the time trying to deal with the frustrations that come along with it.
MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME ! ! !
*On another note, a little encounter today has inspired me to write a blog entitled: "The Curious Case of the Gamer's Erection." Haven't decided if I'm gonna yet or not... and NO it's not about me.*
Meh.
I have 80+ games for it and two controllers but no system. Never played one either.
If he were Miyamoto we'd be expecting a cat fighter game anytime now.

You had me at it's UP and HUGE.
This game sounds horrible doesn't it, why would anyone play it?
Overall score: 9.1
--Load Times DRAMATICALLY better after installation. Hardly ANY at all!
Just got off the phone: starting May 2nd the Wii bundles will be available for reserve at GameStop for release May 9th.
Both white and BLACK will be released, $199.99 with Wii Sports Resort and Motion+ just like the limited WalMart bundle. Old standard Wii sku will be discontinued.
The plot thickens.
Currently doing a complete overhaul of the back-end database handling, and it'll be taken care of with that. Looking at having that done by next week.
