Mark my words, in 5 years time free online gaming will not exist anymore.   Whether it's paying per game, or for a hub fee like XBL we will all be charged for going online with our games.

I'm kind of on the fence with this game. I wonder if it's something I'd pick up if it was on the 360? The reviews say it's very old-school.

I can dig old school gaming, but not when it's too ancient.

Also, it's not that long. Maybe it's a good nostalgic trip down memory lane.

Split Second feels like Ridge Racer 6 on steroids! It's basically Ridge Racer's drift system with destructible environments. The demo was pretty fun and exciting.

But I usually never buy racing games at full price because once you get through all the tracks, it gets kind of repetitive afterwards. but I'm very tempted to pick this up.

Has anyone here tried to demo yet?

 Demo was alright, even though the high level, most interesting power plays kind of leave you out of the action. Multi-car power plays are a joy to pull, and the fact that you can reshape the track with the highest level power plays makes for a more vibrant, intense racing experience. It does feel like a one-trick pony. 

I'm not getting it full price, though, with RDR coming. I will pick it up eventually.

 The mere fact that you are considering getting Split/Second over RDR disturbs me a great deal. So much, in fact, that I have to withdraw for a while, to smell some of my used underwear, hoping to ease the shock and disgust that your conundrum has awoken in me.
