Yesterday, some random guy said on Twitter that he'd heard a rumor that Yakuza Of the End is a zombie game where zombies have run amok on the streets of Kamurocho.

It sounded pretty far fetched, but it's actually for real. Screens from Famitsu have leaked out, and the streets of Kamurocho they show the streets of a destroyed Kamurcho crawling with zombies. And well dressed zombies too -- it looks like "they" (I don't know who "they" is) got to the hosts.

The screens show Japan's self defense force being deployed on the streets of Kamurcho. But they're no match for the party-loving zombies of the neon city who in one shot appear to be grouping together to pick up a tank.

It's a good thing I shan't be on the podcast this week. Because I'll honestly say nothing but a big ol' FUCK YOU to Sega.

Seriously, Yakuza & Zombies? NO.

Though I don't mind the VC3 stuff. As long as it isn't filled with generic anime bullshit like VC2, I'll be happy.

I'll need more information, but if that is true, that'll be the first Yakuza game I don't buy.

VC1 only sold well after major price slashes though. But yes, when people say bad/good sales it's related to the cost/expectations. Clearly VC1 didn't sell enough for a sequel of similar cost to become Sega's priority, while VC2 apparently did. Even if the latter did lesser numbers it still qualifies as "good sales" where the former doesn't. It's profit that dictates that, and Sega seem to think they're profiting from PSP.

Absolutely they can but they can, but that doesn't mean if that same exact game was made for a console it wouldn't even be better. Very few handheld games really feel like they are made just for handhelds and those are mostly recent games on the DS as there is no console counterpart to what that system can do. But the GBA, PSP, GB and the like are all just handheld consoles, they don't do anything the consoles couldn't do. Plus I say any game on one of the portables would look nicer on a TV set.

I can agree with most of that.  But also, with respect, I've beaten more hand-helds games that you over the last three years, so I'm qualified to disagree  with your statement "Very few handheld games really feel like they are made just for handhelds..."  I'd change "Very few" to "Less than half of" if we are including PSP and to "More than half of" if we include DS into the mix.

So all PSP games can be made for consoles. I am not saying they all should be, I am just saying no PSP game is this unique thing that can only be done on PSP.

Technically, yes.  And just as not all home console games belong on a hand held, the reverse is true.

There are many, many PSP games that have NO business being on the home console.  I think that you just said the same thing.
