wow someone thats excited for that game colour me surprised really besides one gamestop manager your the first person i have seen that wants that game
HOLY HOT HELL FRICKIN' DAMN ! ! !
Dead Space 2...
Wow...
Just. WOW!
Indescribable! Gold Standard for Action-Horror? 100% accurate!
I forgot just how incredible this game/series was and will prove itself to be!
If you have the option, get Dead Space 2 for the PS3. IT comes with Dead Space Extraction, whereas the 360 version does not.
I've played a little of it, and, yes, it is the FULL GAME that was on the Wii. It is an on-rails shooter. You can use either Move or the Dual Shock to play.
You know what? It is surprisingly FUN!
It is the prequel to the entire series, documenting the events that happened before Dead Space 1, before the first Marker was discovered that brought down the Ishimura.
It fills in --A LOT-- of the backstory and lets you see the Ishimura before it becomes the wreck you knew it as in Dead Space 1.
TWO GAMES FOR THE PRICE OF ONE!! HOBO POWERS, ACTIVATE!!
I was interested in Bulletstorm last year, upon first seeing gameplay movies. I posted a link in the news section, before it started to get hot in the forums and websites, before I owned a 360, before I was even actively playing shooters again. It looked like a new twist on the FPS and I am all for anything new and unique in this slowly stangnating business.
Having played the demo, I have to say, I don't know how I feel about it yet. I am totally and completely sure there are people who are going to rave and rave and rave about it. I might be one of them. I hope Archie is one of them. The relentless abusing of your enemies in countless unique ways is something really, really fresh to the genre.
Being who I am, the testosteroney dialouge and humor is a bit lost on me. It could get to be over the top and obnoxious. Dick-Tits? Please. I didn't like the Jerky Boys, I don't appreciate an over-abundence of it here. The demo is (as far as I can tell) you running through the ruins of a building, taking out enemies with "Skill Kills" wracking up high-scores on a leaderboard. If this is what the focus of the game is going to be, I don't know how long that will hold my interest. At the END of the demo, you see bits of story-line and some of the BIGGEST bosses I have ever witnessed in a game yet. As long as the game has a fully fleshed-out single-player mode and campaign IN ADDITION to bragging rites on a score-board, THEN it could potentially be something seriously good.
This game was tailor made for the (360) Gears of War crowd, without being GoW all over again, so much so, it's gonna come with a demo OF GoW3. I assume the version to get will be the 360 version.
If I didn't play this 5 minutes after playing the ungodly EXCELLENT Dead Space 2, I may have been A LOT more excited by what I played. As it stands right now, it remains in the "Most Likely to be Purchased Next Month" Queue, but hasn't become a "Must Buy" yet.
I'm VERY interested in hearing other's opinions of it after THEY play the demo!
oh god i hate the patches that 3/4 of the games i buy seem to have its insane i am thinking what the fuck can they need to be patching right at launch is the game that piss poor that they already need to patch it up
It's not a patch for Dead Space 2. It's the Bonus Content: Dead Space Extraction. I didn't HAVE TO click on it, immediately upon booting up the game; I saw the Icon on the Dashboard and thought I was just going to be installing it from the disc. Turns out, it's just a "Start Downloading" link, and once it's started, you have to keep the system on for the duration of the 3544 meg, entire download.
I know I shouldn't be complaining about a free game, but waiting a half an hour (or more?) to start playing a game I was super excited about made me very angry and made the wait feel intolerable.
What --WAS-- unacceptable though: Once the actual game started, it got hung up for another 5 or 6 minutes attempting to connect to EA's Servers to Enable the Play Pass. It THEN tries to connect each and every time you start the game... I don't know about the rest of you, but I have been getting certain PSN Errors when it tries to connect me lately, especially on Tuesdays, where it logs me on and off and on and off... If I have to sit through the "Connecting to Servers" screen every time I try and start the game, I. AM. GOING. TO. BE. PISSED!
I have to pass on Dead Space 2 for now, if it came out last week I would have gotten it with LBP2 using the deal, oh well.
Don't worry, Mass Effect 2 was well worth it too.
I will wait patiently until you get Dead Space 2 to hear your orgasmic moans about it.
Words cannot describe it.
From the very SECOND you start the game, you KNOW you're in for something GREAT!
It will be WELL worth waiting for!
Pachter: " any serious gamer expects bugs.”
Oh Pachter. Hear that Nintendo, I expect bugs, give them to me!
I have been a life-long, serious gamer. I fucking HATE bugs!
How the HELL would he know what a "serious gamer" would expect?!
Likewise any serious companies or forms of media expect their consultants and analysts to be right in their predictions more than once i a damned blue moon, and yet....
The game looks excellent, lots of people are excited for it.
He's like the restaurant that gets the D grade from the Health Department, "hey, people expect some rat hair in their chili-dogs"

Dead Space Extraction. As you may recall last year I played it, then Dead Space, back-to-back. DSE is as good as the HD console original, they dovetail together seamlessly.
Not sure how I'd like it using a regular controller though...
Tiny bit of info on Skyrim
"Five big cities and more than 130 dungeons."
120 of those are identical.
I think Ubi's expectations were reasonable, but missing by 300,000 is hardly a failure of analysis -- it's damn close. Maybe if they did a better job marketing it so that people didn;t think it was some weird multiplayer spin-off it would have sold even more than AC2.
Hickey said he expects the publisher to report "flat" sales of November's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, with shipments of 7.7 million units -- still very strong, but down from a reported 8 million units from 2009's Assassin's Creed II.
It was an "exceedingly strong" casual game lineup that Hickey expects drove growth during fiscal Q3, ended December 31. October's Just Dance 2 for Wii has sold through over 5 million units and November's Michael Jackson: The Experience has sold through over 2 million units.
Ontario guys story is interesting. But the strangest part is how did that truck manage to crash right in front of a person that randomly has a camera in his dashboard and it was recording. WTF.
Inafune leaving helped moral, of course, how would you like it if you boss insulted you every single day you worked there.
