You also have to remember that is is running at half the resolution when in 3D. Still takes more rendering power, but would not say twice as much. Early games are just poorly optimized.
You know all the Zelda 3DS and Wii U news lately has gotten me really excited for the next Zelda game for the Wii U. For years I was mocked for liking Phantom Hourglass, but I will argue to my death that the mapping system in the game is probably the best addition to the series since the hook-shot. It was a natural fit for the series, and executed perfectly. Well now we have a touchscreen for a console game. And you know what that means? Mapping for a Zelda console game!!!! It will be magical I tell you!!!
^ LIES!
Outland is amazing. BUY IT!
Meh! Game sucks!
One day you will realize that Phantom Hourglass is not only the finest of the Zelda series, but it's also the pinnacle of modern day gaming.
**See my glowing write-up in the Completed Games Topic!**
LOL who the hell was playing that Peace Walker demo? He got his ass raped.
Graphics look nice, pretty much on the same level as the PS2 games. Looking forward to the collection with sincere enthusiasm.
I'm still playing Witcher 2, BTW. Yes the game is still amazing, and I have it running smoothly with no crashing or glitches at all anymore. The controls, combat, and story telling are a huge improvement over the 1st game which was great in its own right. This is the RPG to beat, no questions asked.
Playing this week:
Nostalgia, a JRPG for DS made by TECMO.
It's a Final Fantasy clone that has a ridiculously fast pace. You get an Airship in the first 15 minutes of the game. You play as a "young Indy" type. Standard turn-based battles on ground and air-ship battles in the skies. Set in 19th century Earth, you fly around real places.
Not too bad at all. I like the inventory system.
I was playing Psychonauts until my 360 red ringed, so once again, "FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!".
While disconnecting that from my TV yesterday I hooked up the now available component input to an original XB and put a Dreamcast on the open composite. So I played some games of NBA2K1, 2K3, 2K5 and Sword of the Berserk (which I think will be the next console game I'll play).
I also found a fix for my brand new Dreamcast. It had a read disc error that was actually a result of the door not closing properly, so I fixed that and now I have two fully functional Dreamcasts.
Downloadable Weekend, this weekend! I've been playing:
*Best compliment I can give this game is it reminds me of Wonder Boy!*
*Can't wait for the inevitable sequel. They hint about one at the end!*
*I'm enjoying this game so much, I may just skip Dungeon Siege III...!*
*Oops! Forgot this one non-DL game!*
Leo, what's the 3rd of your DL games?
I haven't played much. A bit of Brutal Legend, and some Phoenix Wright in my more "private moments"
