MGS Peace Walker is going well. I switched to the Xbox version (which actually looks better
) so I had to backtrack a few hours, but now I'm making progress again. I stand by my original thoughts that this game is not on the level of the console games, and that it would have been titty-poppin' amazing if it had been designed for the consoles from the ground up.
Its weird in that the gameplay itself feels dumbed down a bit and not as deep as the console games, but they added a bit of strategy to it also in the form of the base building and weapon and item enhancement through experience. The story isn't as well told either, but its definitely Metal Gear. The way the game is broken up into missions and segments makes it feel more arcadey and disjointed than a normal MGS game as well.
As of right now I'd say its a 8/10 range game.
Each have their own strengths.
If you have trouble sleeping Metroid Prime will be the better game
If you are just an happy guy with no care in the world, other M will get you in a depression quickly.
It still has cutscenes, but most of the game is done with those comic slides. But yeah, don't be expecting the usual insanity.

Nintendo just released the original Gameboy Tetris on the 3DS Virtual Console today. Why the hell would they even bother? Tetris Party is already available for a dollar more.

Wow that's interesting. Doubt it's cancelled but it's been 2 years since it was shown, there's still no release date for it, and the lead designer doesn't exactly work for Sony anymore. Something is fishy with it.
Even if its not, by the time the game releases the PS4 will be on its way, the Wii U will be out, and nobody is going to care.
I don't know what happened to Team Ico, but what seemed like a developer that would blossom into one of the best during this era of consoles has instead been one of the biggest disappointments. Sony needed these guys to deliver on the PS3 badly, and the fact that they didn't is a big reason why the PS3 turned into the PS360, instead of developing its own identity.
IGN just posted this courtesy of Gamestop:
"The Last Guardian has not been cancelled by Sony as we incorrectly stated in an automated call to reservation customers. Because the game did not have a specific release date, GameStop made the decision to remove the game from our system. The Last Guardian will be reinstated for pre-order when a firm launch date is known."
So it's not cancelled. Merely in limbo.... still.
