How could I not remember, I always remember stuff about people, so that I can use it against them.
Vader is laughing on the outside, but crying on the inside.
Wrong friends come first. Just because someone shares your DNA, does not make them more important. Of course a family member can also be your friend. Friends and family are eternal pussy is just temporary.
Not when the pussy is also your best friend!
Watched the match, congrats Bugsy. Great for Drogba to finally win it.
Bayern's shooting was a laugh all game.
Thank you buddy. Sorry it was spoilt for you. I kind of wish I could have gone to watch the game knowing we'd won it. It would have spared me the potential stomach ulcers I have in store for me.
I'm still too emotional to express myself in any coherent manner. Such an incredible campaign. Really the stuff of Holywood. A team comprised of so many players way past their prime and on their way out. Comprised of players just in still struggling for a sense of identity and a sense of place in the team. A 22 year old until recently in the reserves who had never played a minute of Champion's League football before, playing in the starting eleven, in a position that was not his natural one. An interim manager who last year was sacked by West Bromwich Albion and was just "standing in" until a new appointment after the first choice was sacked. A team that was for at least 5-6 seasons among the three best teams in the world and every year for some reason or other (missed penalties, crooked referies, bad judgement ...) missed out on this. I remember having an argument with IGA many years ago who was claming that the best team in Europe is the team that wins the Champion's League. He was and still is wrong, but I won't get into that now. This season, they haven't even been among the top five teams in the English League, let alone Europe. They are a team way past their best and in serious need of renewal and reconstruction. But they won the Champion's League. And they deserved to do so. Beating far superior teams along their path to victory. Napoli, Benfica, Barcelona and Bayern are all far superior teams in terms of squad quality. Yet Chelsea played like so much more than the sum of its parts, and found the grit, determination and faith to beat all of them ... fair and square, and to be crowned champions of Europe... playing AWAY on the night of the final when it should have been a neutral ground... with FOUR key players suspended and two coming from over one month long hamstring injuries and without any warmup games. Playing in THEIR city, in front of THEIR supporters, hitting and saving penalties in front of THEIR hardcore supporters, trying to win THEIR cup. And managing to do so. Not so bad for a team that had been completely written off by everyone but themselves back in March.
Heroes, the lot of them. Some of them legends. Except for Terry who made me a little sick in my mouth seeing him pouncing around in his kit after being a disgrace in the semi-final and letting his team and the fans down in the worst possible way. He should have at least shown some dignity and stayed in his suit and in the sidelines the way Roy Keane did in 99.
As for the final, we didn't play as well as we did against Barcelona over two legs, but then Bayern is not Barcelona. We did what we had to do. They have been let down again by the outsized egos and selfishness of misters Robben and Ribery and by Gomez's finishing ability going completely AWOL.
Drogba is a legend of a man. Showing true empathy with the inconsolable Schweinsteiger and Robben instead of running around with his mates and fans (not that he didn't do that and why shouldn't he). Cech also ... dived correctly on six penalties, and saved three of them. Lampard a true leader. Ashley Cole, for my money the best left back on the planet this season. Ryan Bertrand, at 22 never before played a champion's league game and being called to play in the final and given the task helping keep Robben at bay ... and doing so with flying colours. Ramires, Meirelles and Ivanovic ... so instrumental in Chelsea being there to play the final and sorely missed during the game. Too many players to mention individually.
Sorry if this blurb doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Especially to our friends who aren't being fans of football (of the variety that is actually played with the foot)

Also. David Luiz ... great performance finished off by the greatest penalty ever. This is just too good, and taken just after his team-mate had gone and missed the first penalty of the shootout. IMMENSE!
