Pretty bad for everyone but PS4. Vita dead. Wii U up YOY and software sales is way up. 3DS is horrible.
Lego games are huge. On a month where no big games come out only the games with legs stay in the charts and now you can see which games those are, the CoDs, GTA, Lego, Minecraft
So today had to be the stupidest day in gaming history.
We had that Polygon article that has been talked about and gave us this gem:
If anyone can tell me what this means I will buy you a Wii U.
Ubisoft gave us this gem
With confirmation of two AC games this year. It's impossible for anyone to crank out more yearly franchises than this company does. 10 studios working on AC5.
They shared some info on how well their games scored on metacritic:
Notice something missing, look at the bottom. Holy shit.
We had someone claiming Mario Kart 8 shows a lack of color in Nintendo characters...
The Far Cry 4 cover came out and immediatly got hit with critique
Twitter gave us this

Sweet, Mario Kart, here I come!
It's showing the ratio of Mario Kart sales vs console sales (Mario Kart was first released on SNES, so it's not relevant to count NES). However they used the wrong chart type as it makes absolutely no sense to make a pie chart. It says that you need 4.91 consoles sold per 1 sale of Mario Kart on average, suggesting to hit 6 million copies sold on a platform you need to sell roughly 30 million consoles.

Whoa, Infamous outsold the marketing juggernaut Titanfall?
Holy shit at this table, what the... I don't even... what if you add Nintendo titles it sinks Ubisoft games outside the top 10 or something? There's no 3DS games either, have they classified them under casual?
"We had someone claiming Mario Kart 8 shows a lack of color in Nintendo characters..." And they claimed Toad and Toadette were human.
What the hell is that FC4 cover about? I don't see race, I see some 70s disco dude with a leather suit jacket and crocodile shoes in an environment totally alien to him. His shoes alone would be screwed up on an island. He would sweat to death in that jacket.
Yikes, so a UK retail chain, very well established were selling Wii Us for £112 That's an 8GB Wii U with New Super Mario Bros. U, Mario Mascot and an 8GB SD card
HMV were selling it at £150 for the Lego or WW bundle. To put this into context Wii 1 was £180 on day 1 release.
Seriously, if you're in the UK you can pick up a U for the price of 3 games or less and you'll probably get 3 games bundled. The John Lewis deal sold out in 10 minutes. 10 frigging minutes.
The reviewer who complained about Mario Kart 8s racism has responded to criticism:
All these comments are laden with confusion as to why I’d bring this up in a review of a video game. People have ascribed a bunch of political motives to me, or claimed I’m part of the “Social Justice Warrior trend” in games journalism, or that I bring it up for “click bait,” or for a hundred other reasons. While the people in the comments of that article are mostly, frankly, monsters, I thought that maybe some non-monsters were wondering the same thing, so here’s why I chose to bring up the issue of race in Mario Kart 8. Because when playing the game, I noticed it, and I had an opinion, and my job as a reviewer is to share my opinion.
No grand conspiracy, no ‘white guilt’ - I was playing the game, and when all 30 characters were unlocked, they appeared on screen at once, and I was struck by how the overwhelming majority of them were white. After the recent conversation surrounding Tomodachi Life and after reading this article on race in Animal Crossing, maybe this stuff was on my mind, but I thought about what I saw on the screen, and formed the opinion “Nintendo can do better than this.”
And I said so, because my only job as a reviewer is to give you my opinion.
If you see the screenshot above, read those articles I linked, and think, “Nintendo shouldn’t have to do better!" then, well, I don’t know what to tell you dude (you are most likely a dude). We just disagree, probably fundamentally. If you can’t handle an opinion you disagree with, good luck going through life just in general! But as far as video game reviews go, you’re welcome to read someone else’s instead.
Seriously, a 3% difference between XB1 and Wii U and U gets shafted, XB1 gets everything?
Given that the Wii U was out for a much longer time than XB1, has a bigger library, and a larger install base I don't think it's really an unfair call for Ubisoft to make. Most of their games have sold shit on the Wii U. They're past the point of making exclusive games I think now, and that stuff won't sell on the Wii U. Honestly if Child of Light doesn't sell well, I think it's fair to say you'll never see anything else by Ubisoft on the system again, aside from Watch Dogs.
Any time you transition to a new platform, there is the opportunity to look at things with a new perspective. For us at 343 Industries, the launch of the Xbox One was an opportunity to think about what stories we wanted to tell, how to tell them, and how best to push the “Halo” franchise to showcase the platform. And, most importantly, combining our passion for “Halo” with the vocal and informative input from our fans.
“Halo” isn’t simply a perennial game franchise, it’s a part of the Xbox platform itself. In terms of innovation and ideation, it’s sometimes important to people who might not even play “Halo.” And of course it’s a passion and an essential experience for two generations of gamers. So we asked ourselves, how do we begin and where do we go with “Halo” on Xbox One?
In the past, “Halo” games have pushed the Xbox forward, showcasing the console and its ecosystem in entertaining and innovative ways. Making a “Halo” game that runs at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we’ve been dreaming of for more than a decade, is non-trivial. It’s a task that we, at 343 Industries, are taking very seriously to ensure we deliver the “Halo” game that fans deserve, and a game that is built from the ground up for Xbox One.
I’m happy to reveal that “Halo 5: Guardians,” the next installment in the legendary saga of the Master Chief, will launch on Xbox One in fall of 2015. In the tradition of every “Halo” game since its debut in 2001, it is a massive and exciting project.
“Halo 5: Guardians” is a bigger effort than “Halo 4.” That applies to the content and scope of the game, as well as the technology in what’s now a brand new and more powerful engine. Certainly there are some core elements carried over from prior games, but we’ve invested a huge effort in retooling our tech to take full advantage of the Xbox One’s hardware and ecosystem to create worlds and experiences worthy of next-gen.
It’s a game that will hopefully demonstrate the talent, learnings and abilities of the 343 Industries team. A game that will incorporate the things we learned from “Halo 4” about technology, aesthetics, performance and scale – and perhaps more importantly, understanding and embracing a community of gamers who love what lies at the heart of this game, and the limitless potential of the “Halo” universe.
And 2015 won’t simply be the year of “Halo 5: Guardians,” it will also be a year that offers us a unique opportunity. The opportunity to invite old friends and new audiences into that universe through the “Halo” television series, launched as a unique collaboration with Steven Spielberg and some of the finest creative minds in the business. A series that will stand alone, as well as complement and enrich the game experience. We’ll have more to share on the “Halo” television series as we near its projected fall 2015 release.
Your Journey Begins in 2014
Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step. We’ll give you much more information about our plans for this year at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing on June 9, and we’re confident that “Halo” fans will be pretty excited about the special plans we have in store.
So until E3, I’d like to express my gratitude to our massive and varied Halo community, whose energy, enthusiasm, criticism and kindness are the driving force behind what we do and what we hope to achieve in “Halo 5: Guardians.”

U software sales are up 80% year on year. Now isn't the time to be dropping support, there is clear growth there. If there was more 3rd party support with Kart and Smash and Zelda etc on the way the system could have done better. If Ubisoft want better U sales then stop cutting features and having no promo or delaying games like Rayman. And actually promote stuff on the system instead of just talking about the PS4 version of (insert any game)
Aren't I zombie Jackson...
NPD!!!
Infamous outsold Titanfall in next gen, so ha.
Infamous ~ 82k
TF on XB1 ~ 77k

Pretty bad for everyone but PS4. Vita dead. Wii U up YOY and software sales is way up. 3DS is horrible.

Good job game industry.
They both look white to me...and who the fuck cares?
The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the cover was how stupid it looks.
I thought it looked like a Saint's Row cover.
Mai I enquire as to whether that is literally the picture Ubisoft released?
Going through that post actually made me stupider.
Yes it is real.
