Seeing a Gamecube game being remasterd for everything except the Nintendo system is a punch in the crotch and literally ridiculous of Crapcom. I still have every game I wanted to keep since the N64 and up so I wouldn't want it anyway but still... just on principle the shafting is getting absurd. Next up will be RE0.

Without the source material it stil would have been good, but the source material made the game a wonderful experience.

I skimmed the Shovel Knight sales thing.  Interesting read.  What they failed to mention however is what they're doing with the money raised from actually selling the game.  They make it seem as if they get paid peanuts, but with all costs more or less covered by the kickstarter, all dollars that come in from the game being sold are pure profit.  And I can't speak for American average salaries, but being an entrepreneur myself $60k doesn't seem too bad, even if you still have to pay for your material and whatnot.

It's not that I care.  I just misliked how they seemed to paint a picture of the poor developers risking everything on this game, while in reality they still made a decent living.  Well, save for working 12+ hours a day that is.

You really think western devs would respond well if Nintendo pursued them? Not without huge moneyhatting and the big publishers would be immune to it. Also this supposes that Nintendo hasn't been trying to get support behind the scenes. They probably have been, but have been unsuccessful. Like with 2K games they've been asking for games for years and got very little. Wii U is like a pariah and no one wants to go near it. And even 3DS has been somewhat abandoned for bigger spoils in the cellphone market. To me as a long time game it's very sad seeing no faith, no support, no loyalty from anyone in the industry at this point. I think only smaller Japanese devs will work with Nintendo at the moment. Even though Bandai-Namco is making Smash for Wii U, most of their other games wont be coming to the system.

It's now seen as totally okay to only delay, the U version of a game or just not make one at all and face no questions as to why anymore. No one has embraced digital distribution either.
