What's interesting is that Miyamoto seems to acknowledge that this approach can lead to amazing success or on the other hand failure. And they will keep trying regardless of the failure and hope next time things will take off. Instead of taking a steady - somewhat unspired normal console approach.

With the Wii U when they were developing it, tablets were not as widespread and he says that what happened is that the tech caught up with them too fast and overtook them. So imagine if we didn't have ipads and tablets and the U controller existed. Would it be perceived as being much cooler? I don't know, I think it would still get flack from the graphics crowd.

I think they should take and innovate second approach instead of an innovate first one. So you get steady to start with, inventive year 2, 3 and onwards with full software support.

It was the fact there are no games, no third party support, no shared profiles between your systems so you have to repurchase everything if you change consoles, no mature games, tons of missed opportunities with the Virtual Console, horrible online structure... Shall I go on?

Exactly. Plus the way they introduced the system and their marketing campaign was piss poor.
