Seems PS4 is out of reach this Christmas. Had to replace my smashed car windshield and pay other bills. Sucked me dry and have yet to get presents yet for family.

Dang my PC started doing weird shit a couple days ago, it seems it's a W10 issue. Out of the blue I got stuck in an endless loop of failed booting, unable to do anything I tried from restoration points to OS reinstalls. Had to send it in with my tech guy. As a semblance of a silver lining, I used this as an excuse to swap my 8+ year old HDD for a new one as well as an SSD.
Being PC-less made me look towards the systems I had lying around. Turns out SMTIV is quite fun, in a twisted pokemon way. I also bought FE from that shitty eShop sale they have going on. Maybe I should get MH4 while the iron is hot.

Unless NX is shit. But I might put off any console purchase in 2016 anyway.
PS4 would be a better purchase in the middle of its lifespan than Nintendo's next system at the very start. Even if the NX is really good, how many games is it going to have that are worth spending $300+ on?
I was responsible for development tools and the 3D engine.
With the improvements I made for FAST Racing NEO we were able to have 10x times more graphic objects than, for instance, in Nano Assault Neo.
So we were able to sustain our target framerate of 60fps even in 2-player splitscreen mode.
I also highly optimized our scripting VM and continuously improved the overall tools performance to shorten the iteration times
Depends on what games you prefer and whether NX will keep up techwise regarding third parties.
I'm more interested in playing Nintendo games than most 3rd party stuff anyway and the temptation of something new is there too.

But as my free time gets less and less and my attention span wanes, as well as my interest in gaming in general, buying every console on the market is not for me anymore. But also, if 3rd parties supported U then there wouldn't be a replacement in 2016 so I would have the spare cash and impetus to buy a different console. Since Nintendo's next console is being forced out early, then the other consoles have to compete with it for my cash.
I want to wait and see what it will be like and Nintendo is an amazingly consistent company in quality output gameswise.
