I find it kinda ironic that people would flip out over the thought of a PS4.5 in the middle of a system's generation...
...but if Nintendo does it, it's just fine.
NX is basically Wii U 1.5...
Nintendo system with a controller with a screen and remastered ports of their only popular titles...
If it has the option for Ultra HD, it's pretty much exactly the same concept.
I think the PS4K will more resemble the New3DS than the jump from Wii to WiiU. I don't have any issue with it, unless it turns out to be a completely new gen, that would suck.
...also, if they are developing ports of Splatoon, Zelda, Mario Maker and Smash, does that mean the NX --WON'T-- be backwards compatible?
My issue with PS4K is that there's just no reason for it. PS4 is fine as it is...just needs much more 1st party software. And if it turns out some future games can only be played on this 4k model, that would be totally lame. At least NX is a completely new system and needs to happen because the Wii U is dead.
I think that it's possible the PS4K may not be upgraded to affect games at all but may simply be an upgrade to play 4K movies, videos, etc.
Hopefully the NX will still be backwards compatible. I don't think these port rumours are necessarily indicative of it lacking bc. The Xbox One has backwards compatibility with an ever growing list of 360 games and some of those still have XO ports.
I thought new PS was all about PSVR no?
The problem with the Wii U as far as I'm concerned is not the hardware. It doesn't feel massively underpowered the way the Wii did compared to PS3 and 360. It's just that developers have all given up on it, including Nintendo itself. But that situation will not change with a new console. Especially if even Nintendo is reportedly making ports instead of new games. Don't think it bodes well for them.

I now notice 30FPS due to my PC running everything in amazing 60FPS. Games can run better on PS4. This will allow it. Still stupid to split the base up.
Yes I tried Miitomo GG. Lasted all of three days then never tried it again. But I got a good amount of nintendo points out of it.
No this better be a new generation. No games for NX will run on Wii U, its a new gen. Thats a huge difference.

Yes but that's what PC is for. As you said, stupid to split the base up. PC has always been able to run games better than the consoles....since before the PS1 even existed. Then what happens in July when Nvidia show off their new cards? We'll need a PS4KKK to run at 60 to keep up? Lol

Wii U will be 4 years old by the time NX launches and virtually dead. There are like 10 million Wii U owners. This is a new generation for Nintendo, they have to pull the trigger.
PS4 is 3 years old and is the market leader with like 50 million sold or something. They don't have to pull the trigger. Huge difference launching something new now.

If that's a real console it has to come with a little white hood. The eye holes are where the controllers plug in to recharge. Move wands can attach to the side to mimic flaming torches.
