In regards to that article on Switch cartridges, I don't get what the big deal is with games requiring a mandatory install.  We've seen stuff like this for years on Sony and especially MS consoles, where games can take up up to 80gig.  I get the frustration if one game can fill up the entire internal storage, but internal storage has never been sufficient on any console.

I guess the concern is that the Nintendo Switch already has so little memory.  However, it may not be that big of an issue since Nintendo is great about keeping memory requirements at a very small minimum.

Yeah but it's mainly a problem for 3rd parties who are used to not have to worry too much anymore about the size of their games anymore, or who want to do a quick port but realize that their game is plainly too big.

From what I understand it's not an just a simple install but the fact that you have to have an internet connection to actually get the full game to function. Sure it's probably just a one time thing, at least until you have to delete it to make room, but I can see how this can rub some people the wrong way. The small amount of memory that the Switch comes with doesn't really help things either.

I'd hate for them to introduce a trophy system if it's too intrusive.  I don't want a banner to appear when I've collected 1000 coins.  I'm ok with it on steam because it's very low profile there.

As long as they allow for the notifications to be turned off then that shouldn't be a problem.

That'd just increase cartridge costs, plus might overheat your Switch and possibly induce the unit to warp. Other than that, I'm all for live fireworks.  Nyaa

I don't see how this differs to some of the crap some publishers have pulled off in the past, save for the Switch's paltry internal memory. Nintendo should limit how much of an install you need to download, but I can see how that would be a hard sell to publishers.  I just hope this doesn't lead to every game having a 4gig cart and a 10+gig download.

Apparently the cute asian girl from Nintendo treehouse flashes her tits every time you get a trophy.

Really? I can't think of any other time where a game needed an online download to play the full game.

I enjoyed the first Epic Mickey. The camera had some issues, but aside from that it was a lot of fun. I did not think it needed a sequel though. Seemed good enough for one and done. Maybe one of these days I will check it out, but it's not real high on the list.
