That Super Bowl was fantastic!
Edge are you ok?
No? Good that's how we feel every damn year because of your team!!!!
One of the best Super Bowls ever.
I watched the last 10 minutes of football (an hour of time), and was disappointed to have missed the rest. If I'd realised it was on I would have watched it all. Oh well. At least I saw the finale, which was great.
Was the decision on the winning try, err, touchdown, fair? I don't know the rules, but it seemed like it would have been bullshit if it was disallowed, in spite of the commentators' analysis.
It was most certainly fair.
Good game....Eagles played well the whole time. Pats could still have easily won the game with some better choices. I think Belichick let his ego get in the way yet again. Benched Malcolm Butler, who's been their best defensive player since he made that interception in the super bowl 2014 against the Seahawks....why? WTF....and his replacement got LIT UP for two touchdowns right off the bat. Good move, Bill.
Losing Cooks was the back breaker....he was having a monster game until he was taken out with that helmet to helmet hit. He was doing a great job filling in for Julian Edelmann...without either of those guys, it was pretty tough. I just saw Tom Brady is the first QB to ever throw for over 500 yards and 3 touchdowns in a game, any game, and lose.
Defense was bad all year for the Pats....I knew it would catch up to them. And then taking your best defensive player out of the game.....oh Bill.
It was a touchdown, but the problem is there's no certainty to these lame ass calls. If you have that play happen 10 times, five times they'll call it off. They need to change the rules again. They do this in hockey now too with offsides and goalie interference....you never know what these guys will decide. There should be definitive rules. THIS is good....THIS is not good.
Eurogamer have a good article about fidelity in games, specifically applied to SotC and the imminent release of its remake.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-02-04-the-question-of-fidelity-and-shadow-of-the-colossus
It's something that I too have been thinking about, that with the ever increasing GPU power at hand, it has become possible to very faithfully recreate the visual world, often to the detriment of artstyle and 'impressionist' quality of earlier 3d games. When every rock texture is pin sharp, there is little room for the mind to fill in the gaps. Compare it to reading a book or watching a movie. In the first your mind conjures atmospheres, in the latter all you do is take in the sights.
That's what made old RPG's so good....it was almost like reading a book because you had to use imagination to picture what it would be like. Now graphics are so good and everything is voice acted...there's no need for imagination anymore.
Do we know why Butler was benched?
They won't say. Probably the same reason Wes Welker and numerous other guys have been benched by Bill. Contract disputes and pissing Bill off.

SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Hyperbole regarding fidelity and questionable literary analysis aside, I couldn't agree more with the premise of the article. In fact, when I watched the trailer for the PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus awhile ago I thought it looked soulless and shit. I've had the same reaction to most such remakes I've seen. Even increasing the resolution can have a detrimental effect in some games, as it often destroys elements like fog which are a vital part of the atmosphere, but appear to disappear at higher resolutions.
Just installed Shadow of the Colossus PS4 and was notified by email that my Analogue Super NT is on the way.....ooooh fuck yeah a great weekend of gaming is on the way!
Was sent an email telling me that my copy was dispatched and then another email with some code to use toward some bonus or other. Some kind of screen-saver/desktop picture and a special sword to use in game.

Thanks Bugsy, I'll get the new one.
108 Marios to go.
Must say I am finding myself annoyed with all the Wii U ports either already on or making their way to the Switch.
I get the "those games deserve to sell better" argument ... yeah they do, or did! And I ... kind of get the "what's the harm?" argument ... except there is harm in misplaced resources when those studios could be working on brand new games instead of porting and remastering jobs.
However, I do not accept the "more people deserve to enjoy those games" argument. Oh no they don't! Those who bought the Wii U deserved to enjoy those games, and hopefully did. Why should the Johnny-come-latelys and the all the prodigals rekindling their fascination with Nintendo now that the switch is OK to like/own get to enjoy upgraded/expanded/definitive versions of said games? And why should those who already bought them be tempted to double-dip or miss out? Am I spiteful? You bet I am.

Must say I agree with your annoyance, although not for factual arguments. I'd much rather be getting original games. I've only bought one rerelease so far, being MK8. Figured my son loved it so much I might as well get it for him on the go. He has barely touched it...
As for misplaced resources, I'd argue that the ports are mostly outsourced to smaller studio's, so there is little harm done there.
I’d love to see a Ridge Racer 8. I miss this franchise. Ridge Racer Unbounded was disappointing.
