Well I'm really referring more to them cutting their ties with him before Metal Gear 5 was really even completed. At least completed to his level and standards. Their leaving game development in general is a different thing altogether.
MGS5, in spite of being one of the best games of its gen feels like it wasn't completed. After its release, Konami proceeded to fuck it up as much as they possibly could, so I'm not sure what you're getting at here, either.
Started playing Doom N64 (on original N64). It's better than expected. Pinky's look like they are from Clayfighter 64.
Anyone getting this:

I've been playing Unruly Heroes on Switch, which is a 2D action platformer from some ex-Ubisoft devs made in the same engine as Rayman Legends and Origins. I'm not enjoying it as much as I had hoped, but I can't put my finger exactly on why that is. Perhaps the graphical style just isn't grabbing me? The gameplay is very varied, with nearly every level throwing a new mechanic at you. Boss battles are cool, even taking out regular foes can be challenging. there's also some decent platforming to be had. Still, I'm about halfway through now and the last level I played was the first time I felt that I was phoning it in.
My son who has dabbled in some Rayman Legends remarked that it looked very much like that one game with the 'armless duck', so at least it's showing its pedigree.
Quake 2 was pretty damn fun on the N64 too. That was a great console for shooters...it's just too bad Nintendo never released an updated dual shock controller equivalent.
I've been playing Luigi's Mansion 3 and really loving it. It's got that Nintendo quality that I love: secrets all over the place, fun, creative bosses, great, solid game mechanics, quirky charm to all of its characters. I feel like these are things I praised about LM2 as well. I'm so happy with this purchase.
Other than Sky: Daily Quests and a little bit of DMC 3 (one of the levels is peak DMC2-level shitness, wat), I've made it to the last level of CoD. It's the final nail in Rockstar's coffin, and absolutely hilarious. It also shows that even CoD (albeit CoD is now a little heavier) benefits from allowing you to play without a HUD or reticle. Even more shocking, some of the level design is not only brilliant, but wholly original; other parts copy top quality FPS level design, like Metro. What the fuck is going on?
Wait, a CoD game puts Rockstar to shame?
Wow! That snarky response.
Both are genre exploitation. Rockstar features some parody, too; pretends to feature satire. CoD is a parody of itself at this stage, and accidentally blows Rockstar's pretend satire out of the water!
