I bought an $90 8bitdo wireless arcade stick (Switch, PC) yesterday. I've been playing a lot of old arcade beat em ups and NeoGeo shooters lately, and I wanted a more authentic arcade feel. Joystick as well built, surprisingly heavy, and has lots of configuration options. Since it works on both switch and PC, it'll be getting a lot of use from me.
Seriously, why no map in Jotun? Also for such a simplistic game in controls/gameplay/map there's literally no direction whatsoever. The pause menu has some weird ass map representation but with no player indicator so you never know where you are. It never explains the flow of the game, what the mist area is. How the hub world connects to realms. There's no objective, or map indicator. Even the new powers aren't really explained, I have thors hammer, what's it good for aside from enemies? Is there supposed to be a boss in each realm? As there wasn't in the second one. And why does the second one have two parts? And why wasn't it explained that it was the same realm. You wander across simplified Toe Jam and Earl style levels and eventually reach a dead end. At which point the game says you can continue exploring or go to the overworld. Only you're at a dead end and there's nothing left to explore. And you wouldn't even be able to as no map. You'd trawl back over areas you've already been too cause most of it all looks the same and there's no map. I know I'm making it sound terrible but it's pretty chill and good most of the time.
I didn't like Jotun much myself, but that was mainly due to the simplistic combat and sluggish controls. I didn't find it confusing and while there is no indicator as to where you are on the map, the levels are pretty small with a lot of landmarks and always found it easy to know where I was.

Landmarks? Like on the tree level? It all looks the same 😑 Sundered is a muuuuuch better game. Awesome combat and controls and a fast pace with Metroidvania exploration.
Enjoying Jotun, given the price I paid. Beat the dwarf en boss easily using thorns hammer x3. Then the frigging blacksmith boss beat the living shit out of me in 20 seconds flat. Lasted better the following try but he jumps about a lot so I can't really harness thors hammer to the same extent.
Started Syberia 3. I knew it would be janky so in a way I'm not displeased with it so far. It looks like a 360 launch game, sometimes worse. The textures are low quality, the character models look okay from a distance but when they zoom the camera in, yikes. The lip synching is bad. Framerate is spotty. But you know what, I'm not regretting the purchase. I think if you didn't like the first 2 games you probably wouldn't get why people could enjoy this. It's an adventure game and they keep to the formula with a mostly locked camera and graphic adventure style controls. Because it's slow nature the framerate doesn't really matter. And because the first two games were pre-rendered in the early 2000s? Seeing and hearing the world in 3d, even janky 3d, is still cool.

I only ran into trouble with the lightning boss and the final battle. Good luck with those.
This weekend, I finished Gears of War 4. I was not really feeling it first. Firefights were boring, but as it progressed, it became fun and exciting. It's a great addition to the series. I'm going to try out some more games from Game Pass then move on to Gears 5. My son and I are going a Halo play through since he's never played it before. It's quite fun and I'm hoping to get more to join us one day.
You crazy.
Hopefully BotW2 will give us both and add in proper dungeons.
BTW Deponia is really good. Love the world, characters and visuals. It was a gamble buying all 4 games at once but I'm happy with the result 😊
& you mean the one that the main body is shaped into name Capcom? It does look cool. I wonder how many they sold.
