I was enjoying Burnout Paradise lately but there's no split screen so I was looking into other driving games for the nephew's. I downloaded Asphalt 9,which is free to play. Jesus this games graphics are a lot better than Burnout Paradise remastered. It might also be the best looking switch game. Love the fantasy track settings like the Himalayas. It's an arcade style racer with huge jumps, boosts and even car spins to knockout opposing drivers. Handling is okay at the moment, I only have the stock 1 car. Some races are 30 seconds to 1 minute though 🙃

Need for speed most wanted was re-released and it has split screen.  Excellent game too (by Criterion).

Been playing the Dark Eye Memoria, semi sequel to the Chains of Satinav. Much like the opening scenes in the game its followed the same course much of the time with massively overcomplicated scenarios and multiple screen puzzles with vast sized environments. One of the problems is the active hotpots. Unlike Artix Mundi games which deactivates screens or points which you can no longer interact with, circles remain on screen for multiple points for items that are no longer interactive. The game also has virtually no hand holding or gentle nudging, so you're left to fumble around and honestly some locations like Draconia are so big I don't want to aimlessly fart about only to finally work out what to do so I started playing using a guide. What's worse is that unlike the first game not all things are logical and requires far too many logic leaps. There are also scenes where the game puts up 10 or more circles on the screen for you to work out which combination of 3 are correct. There are also too many dialogue tree combination puzzles where you have to say the correct pieces of dialogue several times in the correct order.

I've also encountered various bugs, mostly audio bugs but some instances where my character was unable to walk to different areas. I had to either quit and restart (thanks autosave!) or interact with an object to pull my character away from that point.

I've still enjoyed the game, mostly because its an epilogue of the first game and continues their story. Also the game world is much richer this time, there are ancient legacies and wondrous locations. While the first game was a more personal story, this one is expansive and really fleshed out the fantasy world really well.

Overall this game feels like it needed more playtesting and streamlining and a better hint system. There's a good game here that's buried under a litany of minor frustrations.

Edit: just finished it, wow at the ending. The storytelling is fantastic and somehow managed to cap the events of the first game and bring a resolution to this games storyline. The Dark Eye universe seems like its quite rich. I wouldn't mind playing, if they made them, more games in the series.
