This weekend I ventured back to Hogwarts to create a legacy.
Finished Horizon: Forbidden West this weekend and have started the dlc expansion, The Burning Shores. Very good stuff.

Been playing RE42. It's no RE4, but it's still pretty great.
Damn. I’ve really fallen behind in this series. I have a LOT of catching up to do.
You've missed nothing. The last 34 have been shameless cash grabs.

Play fighting games!
Some people have received Tears of the Kingdom early. Spoilers are out in the wild.
I've been in the TOTK spoiler thread for hours trying to answer the dungeon question and I have my answer. I'm half satisfied with the answer! Honestly good enough, this game sounds amazing. It's also out everywhere, it's on torrents, I downloaded it but I'm at work, I just want to mess around in the opening area.
Anyway I'm good waiting for Zelda because I got the Zelda like game I want in SW Jedi Survivor, this game is AMAZING. It really is one of those super sequels that improves on the original in basically every way. The world is much larger with so many secrets, so many optional hidden paths, optional mini Jedi shrines that are every bit as interesting as the best BOTW shrines. The level design is so damn good, it's a perfect mix of platforming, puzzles, combat, new gameplay mechanics constantly. There are so many cool NPCs, great side content, a fun mini game, I love building the cantina. And oh man some epic setpieces! This might be the best SW game since KOTOR.
I only wish the combat was better. Sure they added all these new stances and powers but the overall combat still feels janky. It's missing the consistency and responsiveness of souls, and it doesn't come close to the depth of day GoW. But I excuse all that cause for me level design is king and I love how this is designed. It's like the entire game is that crater level in GoW Ragnarok.
Tears of the Kingdom is less then two weeks away but it feels like it’s taking forever.
That is indeed true.
I think I'll keep clear from the TotK spoilers. I've waited long enough that I can wait another 2 weeks. Still not very hyped for this, seems like a lot of different stuff was just bolted on to BotW. I'm hoping that keeping expectations low will translate in me enjoying the game much more.
I read enough of what I wanted to read about TOTK and I think I'm good, very very excited!
Jedi will make the wait bearable, such an amazing game. But has some glitches. Today the R2 button just stopped working to which I started to "R2?! R2?! Where are you?"
Groan.
interesting article on Eurogamer about AI. Here's an exerpt form the lecture by State of decay's Ryan Duffin:
In triple-A, we creators, through our mergers and market research, organised media into formulas and tropes that are predictable and reproducible. Even if AI is just some kind of fancy autocomplete, how many of our interactions or entertainment really challenges our feelings or emotions? Games can be beautiful, fresh and original, but a lot aren't. We're up to our eyeballs in retreads and clones, dosing us up with enough dopamine to not notice. Of course we're at risk of being replaced; we make ourselves replaceable when our entertainment is banal and derivative.
Kind of says it all doesn't it? Most triple A games are so safe that they might as well have been made by AI.
