Ninja Gaiden was hard even by the standards of the time. Even with Nintendo Power to help as a guide, I don't think I ever made it past the fifth level. The the next NES games in the series got even harder, and I just avoided them like the plague. The third one is supposed to be completely brutal. If I remember correctly, it's supposed to be one of those games where they made they increase the difficulty of the original to make the American version harder.

Yeah, I remember them doing that because we had game rentals and Japan didn't. Contra Hard Corps Japan has a 3-hit life bar, the American version didn't. Just punishment for us cheap Americans. LOL

Yeah, the NES Ninja Gaiden are incredibly tough. I did beat them back in the day but not sure I could do it today without some sort of help from things like save states. I probably could eventually but I really don’t have that kind of patience anymore. LOL

I'm going to give the SMS version of Ninja Gaiden a try soon. It's a completely different game from the NES one. Might be fun to check out.

I beat the first Ninja Gaiden but I could never complete the other two. I also beat the arcade game.

I'd forgot about the arcade game. I think there's an Arcade Archives version on Switch too.

A Finnish retailer has May 9th pegged for Switch 2 release, which is the same date Switch 1 released on, apparently.

The switch released early march, I remember bringing the brand new Switch along on our skiing trip.

Hey all, went away for a long weekend. Still in a farir amount of pain. At this point the sleep deprivation is worse than the pain, the month of January no restorative sleep.  Getting to see a doctor tomorrow (lol, just typed "yesterday" if that gives you an idea where I'm at) and at this point I'll ask him for sleep pills over pain pills.

Anyhoo, managed to keep slighly chipping away at Spiritfarer and not much else.  Daughter beat Thank Goodness you're here for the fourth time, which she calls "Lemon Head"

I can't remember, it's what the article says. Maybe it means the same date it launched in Finland at that retailer.

I've tried sleeping pills twice. The first time, the next day I fell asleep while driving despite having slept a normal amount. Luckily only long enough to drift over to the edge of the lane, but even so. The second time this didn't occur, but despite having slept for longer than usual, I felt like I'd been up all night. Hopefully they work better for you! If not, you get used to not having restorative sleep. Happy

Try Amitriptyline.

It's a slow release all day pain reliever whose secondary benefit is helping you sleep. I'd take it at 7:30pm no later or you'll find it impossible to get up in the morning.

You do get used to it though and when you feel better you can half the dose.

If your pain is particularly bad it might not do the trick. But it kept me out of the Doom cycle of not being able to sleep because of the pain, then having the pain get worse because of no sleep.

It's also not addictive that I'm aware of. I've gone off it when it wasn't availible.

Sleeping is possibly the only skill I have left that I'm any good at. I can be having a conversation with my wife in bed, and according to her I can fall asleep mid-sentence.

I liked the new DK look, but honestly I don't like DK that much. So there's not a big investment on my part one way or the other.
