Modern Warfare 2 has some competition

Let's get this out of the way, I think Battlefield Bad Company 2 is better than Modern Warfare 2. There I said it. But it won't win in the single player department. I think MW2's single player is more intense and cinematic, although Bad Company 2's single player is more funny and has better characterizations between the soldiers. But the bottom line for both of these games is the multiplayer, and with that in mind, Bad Company'2 multiplayer shines more than its competition. Instead of writing a long drawn-out review to why I think Bad Company 2's multiplayer is better, here are five reasons why I think it's better than MW2 and vice-verse: Five reasons why Modern Warfare 2 is better than BF Bad Company 2: * More accessible to a wider audience and easier to get into. * More variety in its unlockables such as perks, emblems, and weapons attachments makes for more rewarding and addictive gameplay. * Online shooting is more frantic and intense. * 60 frames per second. You can definitely notice a difference. * Better matchmaking and servers that don't fail. Five reasons why BF Bad Company 2 is better than Modern Warfare 2: * Map sizes are more inspired, bigger, and has a lot more variety giving off that truer feeling of being in a middle of a wartorn battlefield. * Gameplay is more realistic and tacticle where teamwork is key to victory making the game to require more skill to play. * Destructible environments bring more gameplay elements to the game which eliminates camping. Also, it looks freaking cool, like a real battlefield! * Vehicles bring another huge additional element to the gameplay. * Better physics and more realistic animation than MW2. When you blow a chopper up, shoot a guy off a ledge, or a jeep, it looks and feels real. Although I have to give MW2 the edge with being 60fps, but that was the only thing I liked more. At the end, it came down to which game felt more fun for me and BF Bad Company 2 just feels right when I play it. I love the maps, the atmosphere and intensity that makes you feel like you're in a real war-torn battlefield. The destructible environments, the variety in the maps where you can go literally anywhere on it, gives that tremendous feel of realism that MW2 cannot emulate. The banter between the in-game soldiers is pretty awesome, funny at times, and very realistic. They are lines I'd hear from a war movie or maybe during the real thing. The weather effects are truly amazing like the snowy blizzard or dessert sands. And the water looks awesome! And finally, I've clocked in over 100 hours for both Modern Warfare games, but I experienced more "Holy Crap!" moments from only playing 25 hours of Battlefield Bad Company 2 already! That says a lot! All around, I think EA/Dice created a more authentic yet still fun and accessible online shooter that feels more like the real thing, but never too real where it's too hard to play. MW2 might be the more popular shooter and it may sell more, but BF Bad Company 2, IMO, is the better multiplayer game. |

All the people who say they prefer it over MW2 are doing it from the perspective of being MW enthusiasts too -- it's not like they are just dumping on MW -- they just like this game. EA does it again -- brings out a quality game from nowhere.
