MSF is and HD version of the 3DS game. It also has additional remixed hyper levels after you complete the main game. The graphics have been overhauled with everything large, chunky, colourful and clean. It's looks pretty swish but after playing Rayman Legends it seems kinda plain. That's not really a reflection on MSF but Legends just looks so beautiful it's a hard comparison. MSF is a twitch style arcade game, the music is amazing - maybe the best I have heard after Mario Galaxy. It's catchy, plinky, clubby and booming. Half the pleasure of playing this game comes from the music. If you used to play arcade games back when SF2 and Metal Slug were out this game will transport you back there with a massive smile. The game itself only uses 3 buttons, jump shoot and platform switch. You shoot a few rudimentary enemies, do a bit of platforming and phase the platforms in and out when you need them. The first few levels are simple but things ramp up in the latter half of the game. Whilst the game is not the longest game in the world, it is an arcade style game in the purest sense, you want to beat your times, do your best etc. It's fun. |

What are the remixed hyper levels? I read several reviews and none actually touched on that which is of interest to me because I played all the original levels (+ the five additional DLC ones) on 3DS. Are they just the same with more enemies, platforms switched around etc? Please elaborate a bit on those if you can.
Also, Jake Jaufmann's music on this game is particular. You can download it legitimately from his bandcamp page (as well as more of his soundtracks) for a price of your choosing. See link below.

Also ... MSF2 coming soon. Looking forward to that a lot.
