Man it feels good. This weekend, for the first time in 4 years, I walked into a store, browsed and bought some games.
For the last four years, I've bought all my games new, imported them and had them delivered. It is a very clinical way to get games. Back when I lived in The States, I used to, at least once every two weeks, knock over a couple of GameStops, drop $200-$300 and get a grip of games. I'd also go to Fry's and get the latest games, and even go ghetto to the local Swap Meets and pawn stores about once a month.
So buying games went from being a part of my being, to being something apart from me.
I finally figured out the PS3 and PSP were region-free, so I could buy any games for those systems in Australia without impunity. And because I could buy used, I could pay "US" prices (for some).
The bitch is back.
The bitch? What bitch?
Is it like, a...proverbial bitch of sorts?
THEN WHO WAS BITCH?
Times are changing, now the poor get fat,
But the fevers gonna catch you when the bitch gets back.
The bitch is the game buying urge.
I thought it was a metaphor for AIDS.
Bonus content for any dear soul who is reading this. These are pictures of NEW games in a retail store here in Australia that I saw on my shopping day:
And those aren't the real prices either.
