Yesterday I did something difficult - very difficult actually - and I'm rather proud of myself. I didn't buy A Boy And His Blob? Impressed? You should be.
I was running some lunchtime errands and had to hit Subway for lunch and then Starbucks for the wife. And wouldn't you know, there's a Gamestop in between the two stores. So I popped my head it, and A Boy and His Blob was staring right at me. Talk about temptation. The game looks really good. . . AND it's only $40!! What a deal. And that's when the problem started.
I'm in a very rare situation right now where I actually have a backlog. Not a huge one, but I was given a few older games by a friend last week, Super Paper Mario and RE: UC. Couple that with the cheap copy of de Blob I picked up a while ago, and of course my replaying of Harvest Moon: MM and I'm not exactly in a position where I need a new game. Plus I've got Lost Winds and the new Harvest Moon both on the horizon in coming weeks.
Needless to say I was in a tough position. Somehow though common sense managed to override my gamer's instinct and I put the game back on the shelf. I'm quite proud. Of course if I manage to cruise through these games in a matter of a few days. . . well we'll just see what happens then.
You need my determination/apathy. You need never worry about buying a game again.
Just play animal crossing.

That's like proud being proud of a genocide!
You might have had a backlog of population...but still! Damn...
Temptation is everywhere!
