5.  Magic of Sherazade - This is one of those little known gems on the NES, and by all those who were lucky enough to play it, it's considered one  hell of a game. Think of an Arabian version of Legend of Zelda or Crystalis and add classes changes, helper NPCs and occasional turn based RPG battles.

At any rate, a game that mixed genres as well as this one did would work even better today. Plus throw in an Arabian high fantasy theme (that's not bogged down with darkness and emo crap like Prince of Persia) and you could have a great game on your hands.

4.  Skies of Arcadia - This was an RPG that was just begging to be made into a series and had the bad luck to be released only on the Dreamcast and Gamecube ensuring that most RPG fans missed it. Sega has been rolling the dice a lot lately on games that sold a lot less (Valkyria Chronicles 2?) so why not try and give Skies of Arcadia one more push?

3.  Kid Icarus - Nintendo has been teasing this one for years and its time they delivered. The original is a hallowed classic now and one of the very few NES classics never to see a sequel (no the Myths and Monsters for Gameboy game doesn't count).  So come on, Nintendo... you gave us Pit in Brawl and he ended up being pretty damned cool. It's time for him to go solo again.

2.  Act Raiser 3 - The original Act Raiser was a legendary game.  A perfect fusion of city building and action (who would have thought that would have worked??) with an incredible score and hard as hell to put down.  The sequel was kind of a mistep (and even a potential candidate for a non-necessary sequel), but it would be justice if the series was closed out as strong as it started.  All they have to do is stick with the original formula and they'd be half-way there to a good game.

1.  Eternal Darkness - This game was the greatest mindfuck to ever show up on a home console.  Controls may not have been the best but the story and all the little tricks it pulled on your were elements of greatness.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again, a game like this taking advantage of the Wii's controls could easily top the original. And since the game's trademark just got renewed.... maybe there's hope.

There is an interview with the lady behind Skies of Arcadia in the most recent copy of Nintedno Power (US), if you are interested Robio.

I guess if I could come up with any it would be:

1. Scarface.  But now Radical is gone, probably won;t happen (at least with the same team of people).  They were working on it.

2. The RUSH racing series from Midway.  Taking the game back to the 2049 era when they included stunt and battle in addition to their excellent racing engine.  Sadly Midway is no more, and even if they were around they would probably release a game that is closer to the epic failure LA RUSH.

3. Speed Devils (DC). This was an arcade racer that had a lot of fun story motivations to prompt you through the campaign mode of the arcade racer.  Had a good sense of speed (though the cars kind of floated above the tracks).

4. A retro-reboot of any of the classic JRPGs. I'd love to see Mega Man 9-like new games in the Final Fantasy or Star Ocean franchises released for the PSP and DS - using the old engines.

5. Rocket Slime.  This game was so polished it always seemed like a later iteration of a long running series. Brilliant game.

Skies of Arcadia is one of my favourite games. I love it. I hear it was made by an all female team and I would snap up a sequel. Aspro, please tell me what is in this interview.

Oh yeah and Elebits seriously needs a proper sequel, not the DS game.

I was personally suprised and very happy to see sequels for No More Heroes and Endless Ocean and even Red Steel as I never thought they would get them.

I just found a store that had a used copy of Eternal Darkness. Is it worth a shot at $30 bucks?

Its decent, but considering its age, I don't think its worth more than £10, about $18. It depends on how much you want it.

Yeah, $30 is a little much.  It is very dated now and very rough on the eyes.  But if you're the type of guy who can really get into a story and overlook that and maybe even the controls at times, then yeah it's probably worth it.

Then shouldn't he save that money for something scary?  Unless you're counting the camera.

The first two Silent Hills are pretty cheap, so he can afford all 3!
