@Archangel its documented fact at this point that certain games and even some whole sites are bought. Gamespot is the most infamous of these incidents... i'm pretty sure you were there

I think you can enjoy a game despite its flaws and if you are a fan like I am (of a particular game) you can forgive foibles more easily and appreciate what is there. There is nothing wrong with that. And it doesn't mean your judgement is clouded or anything and you can still objectively critique a game. One can also get past the flaws or cope with flaws in a game, that are game-breaking to some, but managable to yourself. So differences in opinion especially with a game which appears to be, well, not unified or consistent will be more likely. As is the case here.

That's great to know, I agree with you, I think what a few of us were questioning is that we almost were not allowed an opinion, without having to pay for it, then play it first. That's probably where the mild disgruntlement came from and I'm sure it's just the usual internet miscommunication at work here.

Its the mentality on the whole that bothers me, I see it with other games but this is an extreme case, it just so happens it is Resident Evil. The same kind of thing but on the reverse has happened to Mass Effect and others. If you play the game and hate it and say horrible things about it do you honestly believe I would care, I would get insulted personally, hell no, i welcome your opinion, we would disagree and that is that. What sucks is people who didnt play the game tell someone who did play the game that they are wrong.
Now on the opinion thing everyone is all over the place on it. I am simply saying this, there are two kinds of opinion, the opinion in a general sense which you get from various sources and that is what most people use to determine if they want to play said game, totally valid, why would I question that. There is the personal experience opinion, which can only come from your experience from playing said game. These two things are very different.
Whenever I am asked "what do you think of X game" if I have not played the game I will always try to reply with "I do not know I have not played it but I have heard its so and so." I would never try to pass others opinions or my general thoughts on a videos or even a demo as a definitive opinion on the entire game. You wont see me try to enter debates between people who have played the game if I have not played it. Did I ever enter the Silent Hill SM thread and say "this game is ass!" before I played it, no. I had my suspicions I would not like it but I didnt have a debate with GG until I have played the game. And GG I would never talk about Army Men whatever, I have not played it, why would I have an opinion. Sure I bet it looks like crap, but I wouldnt write a review on it, I would not go on a podcast and talk about it.that is what I am talking about, ones true personal opinion on the game that can ONLY come from playing it.
I am not saying anyone here has done that, I am not pointing the finger at anyone here. But your comments seem to approve of that mentality, that is what I am against.
I value GMEs opinion, I value Edges opinion, but I value them when they actually have something to talk about, before playing the game they are just regurgitating what they have seen or heard.

Now lets get back to what this thread is about. Me talking to myself about RE6 since i am the only person playing it. Your questions are of course welcome. I will add this, Agent Hunt mode is pretty damn fun but playing against people who play on the easiest mode is total bullshit. They practically have infinite health, its impossible to kill them. There is an option to only connect to higher difficulties veteran and up but I rarely get a connection if I choose that. Why are people so afraid to play on hard these days. 
It's not regurgitating what other people have said, its commenting on it. If people say such and such a game i'm interested in is bad then I want to talk about it. I don't need a detailed theisis of the game to present an informed opinion. I'm interested in discussing it's various facets before and after I play it. What do I think of Chris chapter 3? I'll let you know in about a week. What do I think of the game overall so far? It's ok but substandard compared to the rest of the series. And that's an opinion I can safely reach without ever touching the game.
Haven't you ever used a crtical analysis to help your decsion before? For instance if Ebert says a movie sucks then there is a good chance it sucks.... so boom this guy just watched a shitty movie, got paid and informed the rest of us not to waste our time. Thats what critics do. Here is the good stuff, here is the bad stuff. If you don't use critics and just buy whatever games anyways... then ok thats one way to do things... but its not the only way, or the "one true way"

I am not asking tha,t in this situation the question would be what was your trip to hawaii like? You cannot have an opinion on what your trip to hawaii was like until you take it. Same thing with the game, you have not played it yet so how do you know what your experience with it is like, you can estimate all you want but until you have played it it is all guess work.

Fair enough I agree to that, so consider any game I have talked about but not played start with the preface "I have not played this yet but from what I have seen...." Anyways I just finsihed watching my brother play some section of chris's where he was fighting a snake boss (classic) looked pretty scary actually!
