True, they'd probably receive complaints if they cleaned their dishes properly.
I am loving Ada's campaign so far, finished the first two chapters. It is a bit slow compared to the rest of the game but its a nice change of pace. And it actually had one decent puzzle and others that were not good.
The disappointment with Resident Evil 6 begins when you realize it's not Resident Evil 4. I think people see Leon and expect the same, exact game. The contrast is stark though: You start 4 and there's MUCH more shooting, exploring and general CONTROL over what's going on. 6 starts and you start squiriming after 10 minutes, thinking to yourself: "My GOD when am I going to be able to SHOOT SOMETHING?" Once you do (after waaay too long a tutorial period and waaay too many QTE's) you start squirming for a different reason: The spirit of the series is still there. You are still presented with a desperate situation. You still feel claustrophobic when surrounded by hordes of Zombies. Granted you are surrounded in one hallway after another practically, but the game still accomplishes what it sets out to do. It's Resident Evil in a much more CINEMATIC and ATMOSPHERIC setting; you sacrifice control for presentation and I think THAT'S what makes people feel uncomfortable from the get-go. Maybe it's a bad first-impression that caused the bad scores? Who knows? I'll play more and post more after the weekend!
Also, there seems to be much more of a focus on Melee than before. Leon can practically KICK everything to death on the Campus! It's more FLASH than fright at times and I can see why THAT may worry long-time RE gamers too! The game DOES seem much more oriented towards movie goers than gamers at times --BUT-- some of the environments and just the sheer AMOUNT of enemies on-screen at one time! WOW!
It's a different kind of RE and you know what THAT means in this industry: DIFFERENT = BAD!
We want INNOVATION but games need to remain exactly the SAME too! It must drive developers INSANE!

I don't know, haven't played it. But maybe what's bad is not it being a different game, but it being a lot less game and a lot more movie. I can see how that would peeve me off as well.
I bought this game knowing I'd be disappointed, and I hope I can get at least $40.00 back from it through Kijiji or something. I'm playing through Chris' campaign first because I heard it's the worst. Man... it's bad. No point in rating it yet, but it's low. It didn't even shout "Resident Evil!" at me when I started a new game.
Listen to Iced Earth and play Doom

2 things:
1) you misspelled philosophical
2) Philosophical talk? Come'on are you not taking this a bit too serious? It is about games, for God's sake.
travo said:How many hours in are you Vader? I'm surprised you're playing the 360 version. Any reason for that?
Timed exclusive DLC. I am approaching 30 hours but that is including my time with Agent Hunt and Mercs.
I am away at the moment so I cannot play any further than I did last night, but I wanted to add this:
I am playing the game on Veteran. I am NOT a Veteran RE player, in the least! If the game's theme is all about desperation, I --WILL-- make it --FEEL-- that way one way or another. Cut-scenes be damned, When I am not watching a movie, I want to feel like my life is in danger, every step of the way... It may not feel like a traditional Resident Evil, but in that way, it will to ME!
Is the Agent Hunt mode a pre-order Exclusive or can you DL it?
Dvader said:You got it for PS3. Betrayalton.
Just messing with you, enjoy.
Huh? No I didn't... Why do you say that? I got it for 360!
The funny thing about this game: The more it was described as not feeling like RE, the MORE I felt the urge to play it. I was worried about it feeling like a sub-par RE game and me not having a good past with the RE series even when it was great... As it turns out, all the things that people are saying are the bad-points, like the QTE's and the differing scenarios and differing styles, actually made it sound like a game I WOULD like to play...

What game are you playing Coop? After you do the Leon sequence in the beginning, it definitely does the RESIDENT EVIL... 6... title screen shout!
^ gotcha, again for the most part none of what I said was directed at you cause you actually never really said anything of the sort here, no one did. It was more a philosphical talk about gamers reactions to games and reviews.
