I started binging Orphan Black, and damn that's a helluva good show. It's about 80 group of women who find out they are clones oh, and the actress who plays all of them is pretty damn amazing. I know this is already had a run on BBC and in Canada, so I'm well behind the times, but glad I'm watching it now.

Heard a lot of good stuff about it and the actress. Never got around to watching any of it unfortunately. Really should check it out sometime.

I just started watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine on Peacock. I've been seeing clips of it for years, but since I had to get peacock for the Macy's parade yesterday, I figured I might as well start watching it. Pretty damn hilarious. Even with my unnatural distaste for Andy Samburg, everything else is so freaking funny that I can overlook his annoying twatness.

Apparently not. My family has very few holiday traditions. But we are pretty religious when it comes to watching the parade Thanksgiving morning.

Hawkeye is out, seems slow, first two episodes were ok but not much happening. Steinfeld is great as Kate though, i just hope we get moving on the action soon.

The Beatles documentary by Peter Jackson is out and it's pretty damn cool. It's like being a fly on the wall as the Beatles create the Get Back album. Watching them work, inventing songs on the fly, getting into some arguments, seeing their dynamic. Paul is clearly in charge at this point and poor George kind of pushes back as he is gaining confidence. John feels checked out at times. Ringo is useless. I'm still early on but it's a great doc for fans.

I loved the first episode of Get Back.  These sessions were always told to be the beginning of the end for The Beatles. You can see the tension but not as volatile as I imagined. John Lennon is surprisingly laid back.

i kept watching Yoko with the "Look at that bitch eating crackers" attitude. Lol

I just completed the first season of Arcane, the League of Legends series on Netflix.  Without having played any LoL, I can say I was very, very impressed.  The animation and art style are superb.  How they blend the 2D with the 3D is masterfull, the story is compelling, the protagonists believable and humane.  It was a joy to watch.  A second season is already confirmed and I can only hope that it's story will hold up.

I spent the last two nights watching Midnight Mass on Netflix. It started out with a great idea with some excellent acting to accompany it, but kind of devolves into a mess at the end. Sooo many long and drawn out monologues too. It got so bad that during the final scene, I had to fast forward because one of the main characters goes into a very long monologue that's almost identical to an earlier one. At that point I was kind of begging for it to end.

Has a counterpoint though, some people will really digging it, so it still might be worth a watch to some people.

The ending of that first episode! Wow.

I just started the second, then talking about The Beatles breaking up because Yoko sat on an amp, lol. They were very reasonable about everything. And when they said Paul and John had a private lunch... BUT they had a listening device. Incredible.

I'm about halfway through the new season of The Witcher, and maybe I got my expectations up a little too high due to last season, but this is boring as hell.

It feels like it's trying to go the Game of thrones route with multiple parties trying to gain power, division within the ranks, intrigue, and stuff like that. The problem is the writing isn't nearly good enough to pull this off so it just feels like the wheels are spinning and nothing is actually happening.

That said, it's nice to actually see Geralt fight monsters this season. Oh, and whoever did make up for the show needs to be fired. The elf ears look terrible, and there's a lot of them this season.

They're certainly plenty of time for everything to turn around and come to a head, but it just doesn't feel like they're in much of a hurry to get there.

Watched Don't Look Up the other day. The logo of the Elon Musk/Apple company crossover parody in it has a logo that is way too similar to the logo of the company I work for.

I went ahead and finished up the second season of The Witcher and it's a major let down overall. The writing of the first season wasn't great, but at the end of the day it was a fun show to watch. In season 2 the fun is gone. Instead it's just slow and dull, and every time you start to think it's getting good they slam on the brakes.

Coincidentally enough my wife asked me to watch Don't Look Up last night. Most of it just felt like a really long Saturday Night Live sketch to me. And more than anything I kind of walked away just feeling depressed, because too much of that seems less satire and more of what's really going on.

Anyway, it was good enough, but it's nothing I would want to watch again or would even be likely to recommend to anyone.

I enjoyed it for what it was, but it's not amazing. It wavers between clever and too on-the-nose, and the romantic angles don't really add anything. The best and worst quality of it is the unique feel it has of an expression of catharsis and agony of the current moment; it's supposed to be a comedy, but it doesn't fully feel like it because the reality isn't funny anymore.
