It looks exactly like a Xenoblade game, XCX in particular. And near the end they flashed up the red X symbol prominently. Is this some Monolithsoft collaboration?
Wait! Open world MK? Didn't I guess that? Donkey Kong looks fantastic.
Did you guys play the first? This is going to be epic.
Now I see the Cyberpunk port it looks like it's struggling a little. There were a few frame drops and what looked like dynamic resolution to me.
Is Wild hearts that EA monster Hunter clone?
I'm still kind of all over the place with all this news. It started off fine, MK looks great. Lots of ports as expected. FROM game exclusive megaton! Donkey Kong instead of Mario??? What.
Then came the aftermath, and I am kind of pissed off that arrogant asshole Nintendo is back. $500 for the Kart pack in is a lot. $80 games, wtf. Seriously you are just going to randomly price increase whatever game you feel. $80 pro controller. Upgrades at least seem to be $10 and $20 if it has new content. A launch lineup of ONE GAME. And then I find out this FROM fake Bloodborne 2 is some PvPvE extraction game.
No date for Metroid, no new Mario, hyrule warriors is whatever. I expected more.
As for the console itself, it's a nice little upgrade. Seems like they addressed the issues. 4k Nintendo games is long overdue. It clearly runs modern games so that's great, but I won't use it for that, I played all those games already. The new Nintendo games still look the same, they will never care to make high end graphic games and that bums me out.
Yeah, getting pretty sour on the game pricing that’s coming in after the Direct. Sucks that they are charging for game upgrades but kind of expected that. Same with them matching current game prices. Expected that as well. However seeing that they are even going beyond that for some games such as Mario Kart World is some straight up bullshit.

That's nuts.
Guys the game prices are insane and they're selling game key cards, where the whole game has to be downloaded for less.
I did the currency coverter to British money and 450 USD is £346 which is only slightly more than I paid for my OLED.
The Mario Kart bundle is only £385 which is like the same price as the Switch 1 OLED Mario Kart bundle here so the prices are fine if that is what it will cost at in the UK.
But we always get screwed, so $450 will be £450 for us aka $583.
Registered my interest in ordering a system on Nintendo’s website. Also going to see if I can get a pre-order at my local Best Buy and Walmart to cover my bases.
Prices here in Canada are:
- $700 for the Mario Kart World bundle
- $630 for the standard
I went with the standard as I want to get Mario Kart World on physical and I think the bundle is with the digital version.
I own several of them just on the first page. Oh lord.
I was hoping for more first party games. It's as if they've had the hardware ready to go for nearly 2 years, you'd think they would have had more time to get 1st party content ready.
The wheelchair basketball looks like the antithesis to ARMS. It's a similarly bonkers concept, but so grim and boring looking where ARMS was all colour and character.
The new Donkey Kong game looked great, don't get why he's wearing pants all of a sudden? I'm sure it's Trump's fault though. Also, he looked too... nimble? DK games have always had this heft to them, here that seems to be gone?
Pricing is insane though. I've always been a Nintendo gamer, but I might not buy on release. The only Nintendo hardware that I didn't get on release before this was the DS. Then again, the kids will probably demand Switch2 asap...
Game pricing is crazy, especially when you take into consideration that Nintendo games never come down in price. I hope Switch2 bombs like the WiiU so I can pick up 1st party games on release for €40 again.
There's also very little to set Switch2 apart from the original. It really is an incremental upgrade. I'm sure many non-gamer parents won't see what the point of upgrading is, especially at such a premium price. That'll surely hurt their sales.
So they’re making you pay for that “game” that showcases the Switch 2’s features and functionality. What the hell Nintendo?!
Shame too, because I have to admit seeing Kirby and the Lost World again really made me want to dip my toe back into the Nintendo ecosphere.
