How does it correlate to the show. Is each season of the show one book in the series? Or are they just making their own path.

I see this book came out in 96. Took a while to get super popular.

I am on page 50 or so and it's awesome so far. So who does Sean Bean play, Ned? I thought it was hilarious that this regal badass lord is named Ned, later I saw his full name which is much cooler than Ned.

I hate that douchebag dragon kid. Only one chapter with him and I want him dead already. Poor sister.

I have not read a novel in years, this is so exciting to me right now, I forgot how magical books are. I love Martins writing style, be paints a great picture but keeps things simple. What is really surprising me in this book is the role of the children, it is a different dynamic than something like LOTR. it really makes me want to see the casting of these children in the show, they deal with some very adult situations.

Leo, are you still on the 2nd book?  I started yesterday and am burning through it, so much better beginning than the first.  I think it's because all the introductions are out of the way and we go straight to the story.  I might go as far as to say that I enjoy this more than Tolkien's universe.

Yes. I don't have a ton of time these days and these books are loooooooong!

I tend to sit and read in coffee shops ...only! These days I haven't had time to do that!

I like the 2nd book too so far. Is Steel on the third?

Nevermind, just scrolled up!

I got it specifically because it was a good, long series!

I barely have time to read as well.  When I went to DC by bus, I read the most, but my days can be very odd.  I could read 80 pages one day, 20 the next.  BTW everyone,  the fifth book comes out on paperback in July if you're looking to buy.

I read between 100 - 200 pages a day, depending on what I'm reading. I read a lot more these days thanks to Kindle. Happy

Got a Kindle. Got my 3DS. Hell, I'm even sitting at home RIGHT NOW, neither reading or playing anything on my consoles! Either the day is too busy or I'm too tired to sit and concentrate for that long at a time.

BOO!  Argh!

I used to be able to polish off whole books daily...

The Harry Potters even only took me 2-3 days normally...

Well, I can't blame you for not playing 3DS; 3DS sucks. Nyaa But there are no excuses for not reading on a Kindle! None! Boo! Argh!
