After some magazine coverage, we get some nifty new footage. It's a shame for the video quality...

Not exactly graphically impressive as individual elements, but the scale and scope seem great!

If you've got a nicovideo account sign in and watch it here, it's not top quality but just enough to get excited!

The copy paste from another forum was messed up at first, I aletered it a little and it's formatted better for here.

^You've been finding some good news lately Raven.

Subtract one point from Japan.  I regard to the game Haze, one of the worst games of the generation, (I like to conduct post-mortems after I play a game) :

" In addition, Japanese magazine Famitsu awarded the game 34/40."

Anyone here like Sanrio?  (The Hello Kitty store).  I dig it a lot.  Don't know why.  I only have a problem with the Twin Stars and the dog.  All the rest of them are very pleasing to me.

To make this gaming related I have the hard to find Hello Kitty: Roller Rescue for the GC and Hello Kitty: Party Planner for the GBA.  Have not played them yet.

Anybody have high res The Conduit 2 scans? I thought the first was horrible but from the blurry low res stuff this looks like a genuine improvement with less corridors, 2 and 4 player split screen play for certain modes, and actually kinda cool looking huge bosses and enemies. It might actually turn out pretty cool, unless these scans are way misleading or something. The open level sections looked Prime-like in style, somewhat.

I can't see improvements in the pics. It sounds good, but HV is good at telling people what they want to hear. I want to see if they can get past old, linear level design. The core shooting, weapons, controls and enemies were fun in the first game. But when its set in such uninspired, drab, linear, old school design it just gets a little boring.

The graphics were nowhere near as good as they were hyping either.

METROID

Is looking surprisingly good. Almost looks like Retro made it. Still want to aim myself in 2D. Running through really fast and tapping A to auto fire... ehhhh. Hope it's fun.

Nice. Close up some of that looks nasty but the scale is good and when the camera is zoomed out it will look okay. After playing Disaster, I know these guys can use art with a little pizaaz to get scale right.

The trailer begins with a narrator saying:

"Long ago, when this world was nothing more than endless sea and unbroken sky no matter where you went, two giant gods were born -- Kyoshin and Kishin. The gods fought for their lives. And then, they became corpses."

"Now, after many tens of thousands of days and nights..."

The clip cuts to an intense battle where there's lots of stuff being said. I couldn't pick up most of it immediately, but one bit caught my eye. At the 1:25 mark, one character seems to be rallying his fellow soldiers in battle against the Kishin armies. It seems that this is a battle between the two sides of the Xenoblade world.

Following some impressive camera work that takes us from the battle field to a side view of the two gods locked in their final pose, the narrator, presumably the game's main character, returns and says "Our world, the land that expands atop the corpse of the Kyoshin."

it will be sweet if Trauma Team launches at a reduced price in europe as well.  i want to get it and it will just make my decision easier.  i think it will be no lower than £25-£30 though which has been the norm for 3rd party wii games at launch.

Well finally gots me a PS3 now but no games for it yet. LOL Had to go with the 250 GB one since they were out of the 120's and I didn't feel like running around looking for one. I kind of wanted the extra storage space anyways. Ah it's always exciting getting a new system.

People please read the review of Sakura Wars and start getting excited (or at least interested) on what looks to be another gem of a game from Japan.  I will get the Wii version if it has kept the Japanese language soundtrack otherwise I will buy the double disk PS2 edition (one for english one for japanese).

edit: sakura wars is developed by the guys that brought you skies of arcadia and valkyria chronicles!!! from the review " This is the same developer responsible for Skies of Arcadia and the absolutely brilliant Valkyria Chronicles -- and the latter's roots are especially apparent almost from the second you start your first battle." - GG i know how you love SoA

Yeah I'll definitely be playing some demos for the time being. Hopefully they won't take too long to download. I am on a good connection and my XBL downloads are very fast so we'll see. I wasn't able to pick up any games yet but will probably get one in about 2 or 3 weeks. Yeah as soon as I get all set up I'll add you.

"That's precisely why it's such an interesting and, frankly, amazing experience, though. It's doubtful even the mighty PS2, with what some would rightly claim is the best RPG lineup in the history of games, has seen many titles with this much replay value. Multiple endings are in there, sure, but there are so many labyrinthine conversation threads and character dynamics that even though your first run through things will likely be over a couple dozen hours, the game is so rife with replay opportunities, it's entirely possible you'll head right into a new game after it's over."

9.0 and a four page review? Now I'm interested in reading the rest.
