Well Star Fox Adventures was held back for the Gaemcube instead. As was Eternal Darkness.
I kind of agree with the guy....Nintndo needed an adult launch game to go up against the biggest adult launch game ever in Halo, and an onslaught on incredible PS2 games at the same time. They didn't have one. PD was an incredible game but obviously it could have been better on the Cube...Halo-level graphics, controls, sound....etc. A solid frame rate. And if they wanted they could have also pushed it as an online FPS before Halo.
Perfect Dark was kind of lost at the end of the N64's lifespan.
My stance is that you can't rewrite history. It's easy for that guy to say IF this happened and all that in hindsight. But the problem is that we will never know the true impact of a rewritten history.
I guess that even with Perfect Dark at launch the GC yellow stick isn't suited for shooters and that the console would still be pigeonholed as kiddy because it was purple. Jesus, looking back to 2001 it's pretty amazing how much hate it got for being a purple box. Especially when black was availible as a secondary colour anyway.
EDIT: Also online emerged as a requirement for FPS so the genre would have stuck to Xbox anyway.
Meh. I like where Rare is myself.
Yusif, do his missions. Incredible stuff.
From Craig Harris's Twitter:
"I can officially confirm that no characters unlock after 120 stars in SMG2. But it's after 120 stars the game unlocks...[TWITTER OVER LIMIT]"
No new character, what unlocks? Hard mode?
Seems I'm all alone again.
Time to walk naked around the VG Press!
Ahhh, put some clothes on!
No. My boys like the breeze.
Seriously, people should be allowed to walk around nude whenever they wanted.
I've always wanted to go to a nude beach.
I just did the three new surveys, and received a total of 50 coins.
Meh. Been there, done that.
I have given up on Club Nintendo. My account appears to be frozen, as I cannot add any points. Too bad too, as I was close to having enough for the top prizes. Ninty also did not respond to my emails to support.
I just cashed in some of my Club Nintendo points today, and let me tell you it was a bad bad mistake. I went ahead and got their new free game for the Wii that they're offering. . . Grill-Off With Ultra Hand.
This is easily the worst game I have ever played on the Wii. Even being free it still feels like I was ripped off since it took about 4 minutes to download and that's 4 minutes I could have used to masturbate. Let me tell you about this piece of crap.
You use the Wiimote and nunchuck together to extend this hand/claw to take pieces of meat off of several different grills. That's it. You move from grill to grill taking meat off before it burns. But here's the kicker: if you take meat off before its ready or after it's burned the game immediately ends and you only have a window of about a second to get the meat. So far my record was 2 pieces. That's it. It's actually one of the hardest games I've ever played. There is no ramp up in difficulty. It starts out extremely hard and completely unforgiving.
Even at just 80 Club NIntendo points, this is a complete rip-off and waste of time. Stay the fuck away from it.
And in other news I'm feeling very bitter in regards to Monster Hunter right now. After way too many attempts I finally squeaked out a victory against the Qurupeco. It wasn't pretty but I finally did it. So I get back to the village and for the next quest I try to capture him.
Well that was just a grand fuck up. We start out in combat and I'm doing pretty well and feeling like I have him really well figured out. Then he starts calling out to a monster and I naturally expect a Great Jaggi to show, since that's the only thing I've seen him summon. I'm not happy about it, but I've got a bad ass bowgun and some spray shot so I'm not worried about taking it down. Unfortunately the Great Jaggi did not show.
In fact, I'm not really sure what kind of monster showed up. All I know is that it was big and gray, and sort of looked like a giant dragon or Jaggi. I never got a good look at it because it killed me within 4 seconds of showing up. I was at about 40% health which shouldn't have been a problem and BAM, next thing I knew I was dead. After that I said fuck it, and turned off the game.
And so now I'm sort of in that place where I go whenever I play an action game (which traditionally I suck at). It's extremely hard and I'm already frustrated despite not really being too far into the game. Do I continue and just beat my head against a wall or just move on to something else that I will more likely have fun with?
VS.
ROUND 2 ! !
FIGHT ! ! !
But Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race are two well loved games!
Screw sales.
