I must have died over a hundred times by now. I've been playing for four hours, I die about 4-5 times a minute... I'm delirious, I can't do the math.
I don't know why I'm doing this any more, this is like some Clockwork Orange-like torture.
Also, if you traditionally suck at action games, buying one that's hailed for its challenging gameplay wasn't exactly a good idea. The same for starting out with bowguns instead of melee weapons as they require juggling of many different ammo types to be effective (hence their larger inventory, and more grinding to have items to make those ammo types with) especially in single player where the boss focuses mostly on you so you don't have lots of room for ranged attacks before it gets close. Try viewing YouTube videos for your specific weapon and boss that show the opening timing and how to dodge each attack. I'd suggest switching to the Sword & Shield for now. Most all monster attacks have "tells" like in Punch-Out!! so learn those too. Just pay attention to, well, everything in there.

while the pessimist fears this is true.

heh...
That helicopter/yacht mission is pants. There is no targeting reticule and when you angle the helicopter down to shoot at an angle the copter heads straight for the sea. And then you can't pull up in time and it's game over. What makes it worse is that the mission takes place at night and you can't even see the surface of the water godamnit.
Played some more Lost and Damned too. Nice that they fixed the bike mechanics to make everything more stable. Gay Tony doesn't seem to be going anywhere storywise, it's just disjointed fun. Lost and Damned story seems to be developing but the missions aren't very fun. The music aint good either (sorry metalheads - not my thing)
GAMEINFORMER
As to why the game got a lower score than the first, the review details some some stars that are quite frustrating to obtain. Apparently, one star in particular took the reviewer no less than 4 hours to grab. Also, according to the review, there are some motion-controlled moves that are "extremely poor." Also, another quick note for you guys. The review clearly states that there are 'over 240 stars' to obtain. It's going to be another long trip through the galaxy
I'm betting a 10 from gamespot.

SMG2: too hard.
Updates done.
I'm bored. Can't wait for E3. What date does it start?
I'm, about a day away from beating Mirror's Edge, and I've got the perfect couple of games lined up next. Figured it's time for a Wii game, so I'm going with Dead Space Extraction, followed by Dead Space on the PS3. I'm happy to play them in the right story order. I played Dead Space briefly about 2 years ago and it seemed pretty good.
Of Extraction, Wiki says, "Because of the sales, in their Best and Worst 2009 awards, Gamespot awarded Extraction Best Game Nobody Played. Yet it was also awarded Best Wii Game. IGN awarded it Best Shooter on the Wii."

GTA Lost and the Damned and Gay Tony. Skipping between that, Cel Shaded Prince of Persia and Batman Arkham Asylum. Haven't played wii in a couple of weeks. I can't be bothered to attach the cables, how lazy is that?
Extraction is pretty good but has no replay value. I actually preffered it to the original Dead Space which got repetitive after a while. Darkside Chronicles..... ugh, horrible.
I was bored and trying to look up Extraction sales because the Dead Space 2 interview mentions sales and whether it will be ported to download services.
I came across this:

Worldwide totals, top sales of software. Interesting stuff.
I thought you finished Arkham? I was going to start that one next until the Dead Space idea occurred to me (and I've been too heavy on the PS3/PS2 lately).
The reality TV premise doesn't quite work, but it does enable some slick and cohesive presentation.
Its look is stolen wholesale from Hollywood, meaning that it's a remarkably attractive game with nicely exaggerated action.
Sound design is excellent on track, with cars sounding guttural and explosions having weight. The soundtrack, though, is weak.
Split/Second's unique brand of racing is an enormous amount of fun, and its built around a handling model that's solid and enjoyable.
There's admittedly little depth beyond learning the location of each Power Play - though doing so will give a distinct advantage in multiplayer.
Yeah, that is. So they say 240,000 copies world wide. I remember when that was a big deal.
No it was Foolz that finished Arkham. I tend to draw out games, playing multiple games at once over the period of a few months. Then it comes to a point where I complete a bunch at the same time.
Now I have a 360 hardrive I think it's about time I got my Oblivion Shivering Isles fix.
Going to look at reviews and stuff now.
It outsold Little Kings Story which is at 170'000
Can't believe people ignored that one.
